    A digital purchased game speed up with a Disk installation!


    I buyed CoD AW digital and I dont want to download again a 46Gb game. My brother got the game as a disc so my question is; can I speed up my installation by using his disc to install/download the GB that needed to play the game?

    Xbox one digital download problem.

    yup as stated above.. you can install of disk than do the digital purchase and the "digital license will still hold true.. i did this with bf4.. i had the disk because of day1 pre order/launch when i got ea access/the vault games i got it as a full digital no disk required and the digital code took over i now dont need the disk at all.

    Yes you can. I had a disc copy of Destiny but decided to switch to digital and didn't need to redownload the game at all.

    Were these digitally purchased games or were they games installed from disks? If they were originally installed from disks, then they still need to have the disks inserted to authenticate ownership. If they were digital purchases, do they show up in your accounts purchase history and what happens when you try to redownload them from that purchase history?

    Hi TurnkeyCoyote17, is your game disk based or digital?

    Digital games will naturally take a while to download and install. So this would be normal as it's dependant on your internet speed.

    If your game is disk based, it will be trying to install from the disk while downloading any updates that have been released since the game came out. You can try to speed this up by putting your xbox into offline mode, hard resetting the xbox, re-installing
    while offline (will still take a short while), then when you go back online, it'll download the most recent updates.

    What game did you purchase? Games like Need for Speed and Battlefield 4 needs a hard disk to install and play the game.

    Correct. Once you have the disk based game installed, purchasing the digital version will just unlock it so you no longer need the disk.
