A Cautionary Essay about Xbox Warranty Service

Just read the original post. I would say go the BBB route. I have had to do that a few times. And if you do they probably will contact you. I have had resolutions every time. Just had to do this with Verizon for ripping us off. <-- You would not (maybe
you would) believe what they were pulling. Of course that is after exhausting all other options. And it may not work in every instance. And may not apply here. But if CS is doing terrible and something is not being taken care of it can be a viable option.

Really this is a issue for MS and many other companies. They need to take these things more seriously. Crack down on the people they have servicing their warranty. Fact is, that is a very important part of CS. Maybe the most important. Customers with
minor issues may not like your CS much but live with it. Customers with major issues get the highest standard treatment. You look great because those are the big issues and that keeps customers happy. Most people realize that things can break. Maybe they
are not happy but they will understand if you deal with them honestly and quickly in a fair way. That can be huge.

MS needs to put this front and center. Make sure all repairs and warranty issues are 100% documented and that it is easy for customers to look up the updates. For one thing it can help you identify issues fast and stop them before they get huge. It can
also help you keep issues quite. Happy customers, even with a warranty issue, are less likely to complain. This is good for PR. Then you have the PR of people knowing they will be treated great if issues do pop up. And that can actually help a brand sell.
Warranty is one of the things I talk about with products. Whether I am asking about it or telling someone who is asking about a product.

I do hope you get some resolution. Really, try to use BBB. It will allow you a complaint and MS will see it. BBB = Better Business Bureau for anybody who does not know.

 

Pretty much all large companies have terrible customer service. with that said, sucks to hear about your issues, but so far I've been pretty lucky with MS service. i had like 2 RRODs with the 360, both replaced free and in less then a week and haven't had
any issues with my X1.

 

Sometimes the store return period is 15 days with receipt here in the states; after that you have to deal with the manufacturer.

 

The console comes with a one year warranty from MS...... why is this discussion still going? The consumer has a responsibility in the warranty process.... and when warranty expires, it expires....

 

Sounds like Microsoft is universally loved. Makes me wish I had gone to play station, so my personal data could be stolen instead perhaps. I thought about taking the Xbox to Costco, but I was out of the 90 day period that Costco mandates on electronics.

My warranty is still valid Mr. Kingvas78, for 6 more months.

 

IMHO: That 6 more months should (Right thing to do) be extended by MS for an additional month at no cost to you for every 5 days that it was out for repairs.

If Laws said something that, then I bet turn around times would be drastically reduced.

 

I had a faulty Xbox 360s. I sent it for repair and it came back fixed. WITH A HUGE CRACK IN THE CASING!!!!!!

Complained to MS and they asked for photos. I sent them and they blamed the courier even though the box was immaculate.

In all fairness though, that was the only bad experience i've had with them.
