A button not responding

hi, the ‘a’ button has stopped working on my controller. Sent it back to where we got it and they sent out another controller. Still not working. Then been and bought a brand new wired controller and still not working. Sons really upset. Please someone,
help!?!?!

xbox one: xbox button not responding

I was playing fallout 4 when i decided to quick save then exit the game. Obviously the only way to exit a game on xbox one is to hit the xbox button to go back to the main screen. I had just done it moments before to upload a clip i created on upload. For
whatever reason it didn't work. This was a wireless controller i tried. I have an older wireless controller so i tried that one as well with no such luck. So i tried my sons wired controller... same thing nothing. I just ended up shutting down my xbox the
button on the front of the console. I did receive a system update earlier today.... should i try updating my controller(s). I also had problems in upload. I couldn't move the cursor over an letters when i went to to add a title to my clip. Any help or suggestions
will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, sorry to hear you're having troubles. Try unplugging your XBOX from the electricity, wait 10 seconds or so and reconnect. If that doesn't solve the issue, then update the controllers. Good luck and hope this helps.

I did all of that, but it says the warranty for the controller expired on the 10th of April, so can I still get a warranty on the controller or no? Because it's concerning how this issue is still occurring but no one talks about it.

There you will see your registered devices, select the device that presents the problem and select "Next", fill in the necessary data and you will be able to create your order.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with your controller not working as intended.

Have you had a chance to
update your controller? Perhaps this could help any functionality issues your controller might be having.

Additionally you can try using the
Wireless Controller Solution article and see if some of these troubleshooting techniques work for you.

If non of these work for you, you may have to
Request an Xbox controller replacement. Keep in mind that the options available to you will vary based on the warranty status of your accessory.
