    A button not responding won’t open games/apps


    I’m having issues with controller A button not working I have tried everything that was suggested on other post works for a little bit then happens again I’ve updated controller and reset Xbox nothing seems to work even tried a different controller so I’m thinking issue is console thanks.

    Welcome to Xbox Community Forums. We appreciate for sharing your concern with us and we hope that you are doing well today.

    As we understand you are having an issue connecting your controller to your Xbox console. As peer description, you have done some updates and followed suggested troubleshooting but still the error persists.

    We would like to ask if you have tried these steps on how to test if your controller button is working.

    From the settings > open the Xbox Accessories app > Select your controller > select the icon on the right side below the controller image. Press the buttons on your controller to test them. If a button appears onscreen after pressing it, that indicates that it should be working properly.

    We appreciate you for updating it, but we may also suggest to try these useful links to update both the controller and Xbox.

    You made mention that it might be on the console's side as you have tried another controller on it and gave you the same issue. If so you may try to refer it for a repair.

    Game Won’t Download/Apps and Games won’t open

    Yes i have done this. My external hard drive had 80% left of storage. But now it wont connect to my xbox. The hard drive itself has the light on and you can feel it turned on, but the xbox itself wont recognize it.

    Have you tried to factory reset (clear cache option on your Xbox) that usually helps and fixes most of the issues that are related to your question. If u do not know how to do it please follow this link
