A button and Xbox button registering the same

Hello Christian, have we had some situations similar to this here in the community, have you tried to remap the control buttons, and also check if you have the latest version of Windows installed.

Updates often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update and then make all subsequent security updates.

Also make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store.

Im having the same issue with the A button. If I tap on the button like you would on a platform game its a hit or miss if the A button registers. I have to press the button hard for it to register. Its very annoying and not acceptable for a controller
at this price point. Returning and exchanging it is not possible currently since its sold out everywhere in my area.

Which controller do you have? More recent controllers can be connected to a phone or tablet via bluetooth, so you could test it that way.

I highly advise against using nail polish remover on your controller, the acetone could damage the plastic.

Have you tried using the controller on a different device to see if the issue persists.

Hi, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Kindly make sure that your controller is up to date by following the steps below:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & streaming > Accessories, and then select the controller you want to update.

2. On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “…” to check the firmware version for your controller.

3. If it says “Update,” select Firmware version, and then follow the steps provided.

Also, there are no official announcement from Microsoft themselves which means that we just need to perform the necessary steps.
