A 30fps lock for Destiny 2 on a Project Scorpio will force me to Sony

I understand from recent MS tweets that the decision whether Destiny 2 on Project Scorpio runs at 30fps or 60fps will be made by Bungie. However, me telling Bungie this will not help MS.

If Destiny 2 ends up at 30fps on Project Scorpio, then I will be leaving xbox for playstation. All things being equal, then Sony's Destiny exclusives will be the dealbreaker.

A high framerate is FAR more important to me than 4K or improved graphics. I think to focus on 4K to the detriment of framrate is a mistake. I won't be getting a 4K tv for a long while.

I have a decent gamerscore at 56K. I've been loving xbox since the original first came out. As of this post, I have 5,248 hours on Destiny. I have no doubt that I will be playing Destiny 2 for at least that many hours. I will be sinking a lot of money into
    Destiny DLC and microtransactions.

I am trying to help Microsoft here. I would love to stay in the xbox sphere. But if Destiny 2 on a Project Scorpio ends up locked at 30fps, then to me, both the MS and Sony versions would be the same. Except for the exclusives. And once I leave, I doubt
    I'll be back.

    :)

  3. Are you thinking of getting Xbox Scorpio as soon as it comes out late this year? Why?

Whats the point of Scorpio when, aside from higher resolution, their is nothing that differentiates it from the current gen? At least in FPS, which MS now contends will be.(excuse) "Up to devs." ~ The Red Dragon as well as others in gaming news. (Xbox One
    holding Scorpio back)

They may as well release Scorpio in 2018 - 2020 as a next gen console which runs the full library of xbox one and 360 games via BC, for as with. "Resolutiongate." 30fps locks aren't going to go over well IMO.

Side Note; Im sure that Bungie, which inadvert brought this to light hates MS, and who cane blame them? But if MS doesen't do something, the Scorpio project will be an epic failure IF released this year. My opinion.

Sorry to hear you're upset. However, I researched this issue online and have found that Destiny 2 will run 60fps on PC only. Both Xbox and Playstation will be running it at 30fps.

He knows, HE also stated this please read his post. but, PlayStation also gets Exclusive content the Xbox doesn't. that's why he is switching to Playstation

I was wondering how this would work being that Xbox one doesn't even handle 30 fps in some games and how users of Xbox one would be able to compete in PVP with people on Scorpio if it wasn't locked at 30 fps.

I keep a pretty close tabs on D2 news. I am curious as to where you heard this. I have not seen it anywhere. I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me your source, thanks!. A 30fps lock for Destiny 2 on a Project Scorpio will force me to Sony :)

If it's official, then I can make the move to a PS4 Pro right away.

I do not believe Bungie has officially confirmed FPS for console. People at the D2 Event claimed everything was 30 FPS for Playstations. Bungie has confirmed there is no cap for PC though.

Sorry, onyxishere. Neither of your links support your claims. I do not mean to be disparaging to you, but perhaps you might want to reread those articles. Nothing personal.

They do not say that the Scorpio is locked at 30fps, or that PC will be capped at 60fps.

I am still hoping that Bungie can pull it off. I'd like to stay in the xbox sphere. But in the end, I'm not an xbox fanboy. I don't care which platform I'm on. Only the game matters.

I can't imagine that I am the only one who might be leaving. It's sad that MS might lose part of their base because of what a third party developer decides to do. But that's life.

And the Nacon controller for PS4 will make the transition easier. Oh, well. E3 is right around the corner. I wish luck to all of you in my same position.

  10. Laughable...

You're complaining about Project Scorpio and you don't have or plan on getting a 4k tv for a while? Scorpio is a waste of your time... like Destiny. Anyone who really cares about Destiny plays it on Playstation anyways. You should move on.

I think Destiny 2 will be great where ever you play it. I would love to play D2 on Xbox Scorpio at 60fps, but that's what I have a PC for. I will still play on Xbox most of the time because friends are the real driving force behind what makes Destiny great.

From gamespot: "E3 2017: Destiny 2 runs at 30 FPS on Xbox One X..."

So that settles it. While I am sad to hear this, I look forward to making new friends on PSN. I'll wait until I can find the right 4K HDR tv berore I leave. That'll be about the same time that D2 comes out. Then it's a PS4 Pro and a cancellation of Xbox
    Live Gold.

Sorry, Microsoft. Too little, too late. Game over.
