Battlefield 4 I had a fair few problems on, I think though there's not many that haven't had issues with this game at some point of another. I hear it's better now but not played it myself in quite a while, well not the MP.

I played a little of COD on the XB1, co-op and MP, never had any problems with lag, it ran very smooth.

I haven't played Titanfall in a while but I played a lot when it first came out, never had any issues online with it. Never had trouble joining games whether on my own or with friends, was never booted from a game, didn't notice any lag.

Didn't bother with CoD, Titanfall had very little issues for me, and BF used to have some problems, but the latest update fixed or certainly improved a lot of issues, it's fun again.

no lag, no ping problems what so ever in TF.... some slight coding errors in BF4, but everyone has that.. and nothing in COD when I tried the demo..

    Maybe it should be:

21st century, too many options and still.....

I have crappy internet with crappy wires

  10. BF was buggy a few months ago but is perfectly playable now, only ever had a single lag spike in Titanfall (for an hour my ping went from the normal 33 to 50+) and haven't played CoD.

Ping and lag problems is usually the players fault, also it has very little to do with speed of broadband a person has.I know someone who has 80Mb connection, and yet he has bad ping problems because his line goes through a clump of trees, which causes intermittent
    earthing.

^^^This, this... and this. So many people want to blame it on the XBL, or industry itself, side of things just because they have what someone says will be a good ISP (which may
be true if it's set up properly). Yet most of these people will be clueless when you start asking basic troubleshooting questions involving network settings like NAT, DMZ/port forwarding, QOS and other settings that may have an impact on their connection.

My situation when I first moved into this house was a perfect example of the user end being the problem. We live in a small town, Comcast is the only broadband provider around
unless you want to go DSL. There is no fiber optic here. Our connection for gaming was OK, but it had a good bit of intermittent lag. A few calls to the ISP to check their end helped (they practically rewired everything from the house to the pole).

After that I set out to optimize my own network settings (got tired of hearing our ISP rep tell us we should be good with the settings we have). So I got a decent router, made
sure it was plugged in to Ethernet, not wireless, set up DMZ for the [then] Xbox 360, set up QOS and did quite a few speed tests (and still do occasional tests just to check on things).

Now, my speeds are typically around 24Mbps down and 11.5Mbps up (not that those numbers mean much, they really mean very little unless they're horribly low). I rarely see a ping
higher than 60ms. There is 0% packet loss pretty much anytime I check (using the X1's network test utility). I live on the east coast and when I play Titanfall, my connection to east coast servers is almost always between 22ms and 33ms. The only time I experience
lag in that game is when their is a server issue and everyone in the game is getting it as well.

Yes, it is the 21st century... all those bazzilions can get some nice equipment, but it can't buy the technical knowledge and initiative to set it up properly. Some
of that responsibility still falls upon the end user. Although I guess there is always the possibility of just having a crappy ISP... but TBH I think they get the blame for things that aren't their fault pretty often.

@Shaggy, can you please explain your theories how some foliage from a tree can slow the light traveling through a wire protected with a thick rubber coat??

Ones connection speed has everything to do with how much they are pinging around. Just not the speed most think. You can have 80mbps down and 1-2 Mbps upload and you will not be happy unless you are just downloading something.

When uploading matters, such as when a player is constantly uploading to a game/ or companys server... Then that little 2 mbps is starting to look abit incompatible!

Get a better upload speed OP, i am sitting on 54 down and 10 up, i hardly ever lag ever.

  14. If the game session I had last night was any indicator, BF4 is finally awesome (without all of the bugs and stuff) and is worth getting now (or picking back up) if you haven't already done so. Please do, I need more BF4 friends! A 21st century , multi bizzilion industry ..and STILL.. ;)

I have comcast blast internet for my man cave and rcn for the rest of the house. I have seen very little lag in those three games. This is the least amount of lag I have seen in a call of duty. Battlefield will get laggy occasionally, but that is something
    to do with EA.
