$99 Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel

I'm looking at buying this. Will it hookup to my current play seat?

 

I'm a beginner but I'm looking at getting this and a play seat as well. I'm sure it's worth it because the controller sucks. I miss racing games badly especially the Ridge Racer arcade game

 

If you guys have already (or will) spent $100's on a Playseat - don't sell out for the cheap wheel. Get the Thrustmaster TX - I promise it will be worth the extra $$$.

 

I have the 99 $ wheel. No kind of force feedback, no way to connect the headset and you have to reset the sensitivity after every power down, no wireless and the cable is so very short. But all that aside, cheap, easy to set up, and more realistic than the
thumbstick.

I agree. Although not exactly the same situation, when I got my Fanatec GT2 wheel a few years ago, I skimped out and got the cheapo plastic pedals for it. They felt flimsy and cheap, and not up to the quality of the wheel itself. Although I enjoyed them
at first because it was "better than using a controller", it quickly became frustrating and I wanted something better. I soon upgraded to the Clubsport pedals, which are fully metal, nice and heavy, offer different levels of resistance, etc. They're more
expensive, sure, but with the amount I play racing games, I've more than gotten my money's worth out of them, not to mention the rest of my rig.

Chances are, the fact that you're considering buying a playseat and a wheel indicates that you're more than just a casual racing game fan, so do yourself a favor and save up for something that's not "the bottom rung on the ladder". You'll be glad you did.

Hi all i'm in Australia and the 458 spider thrustmaster wheel is $199 here in the shops,though you can buy on ebay cheaper(new) from aussie sellers. If i had one word to describe this wheel it would be DISSAPOINTING. It has no force feedback,no vibration
when you go over rumble strips in corners. On slower cars it's not too bad,but jump in a rear wheel A class car and you have to be so careful on the throttle in turns because if you steer a bit too much the car spins around! I like to drive and push the car
to its limits but with this wheel i have to drive very cautiously which means SLOWER. I have a microsoft wheel with forcefeedback and vibration and its a far SUPERIOR wheel to this one(it cost between $199-$149 depending when you bought it here in Australia).
Thrustmaster have the TX wheel which retails for $650,or about $528 posted from Australian ebay seller, that has the force feedback,my friend has one and he says it's good. Only thing is that's the price of buying an xbox one console! just for a controller!!!
If i had lots of spare money i could buy one but i don't. I rate this 458 spider wheel a 4/10 very average for the money compared to the microsoft 360 wheel. Microsoft brought out a headset adaptor-wish they brought out a wheel adaptor for my old microsoft
360 wheel,i'd pay $50 for it. Doubt that will happen,so i'm reluctant to buy any more racing games for xbox one if i have to use an inferior wheel with no force feedback :-(

 

The TX is the better of the two.
