99% of Xbox site pretends I don't have current Gold account....

I'm logged in on the Xbox site, the "my account" shows I currently have Gold.

However, I go ANYWHERE else on the site, it tells me to purchase Gold to see the current promotions, "purchase" the current Games with Gold game.

Unless I'm actively using my Xbox, with my user (my family has to use mine as well, as it won't let them use gold), I can't do anything but cancel or change payments regarding membership.

Any advice?

How do I convert my xox gold live account to a family account for free?

The live gold family account FAQ states:

Q: I am currently an Xbox LIVE Gold member. If I have time remaining on my current subscription, do I receive a discount on an Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack?

A: We will give existing Xbox LIVE Gold members a prorated discount on the purchase of a Family Pack. For each month remaining on your current Xbox LIVE Gold subscription, we will reduce the purchase price of a Family Pack by $5. For example, if you have
six months of your Gold subscription remaining, you qualify for a $30 discount and will only be charged $69.99 at the time of purchase. If you have 20 months or more of your current Xbox LIVE Gold subscription remaining, you can upgrade to an Xbox
LIVE Gold Family Pack for free. You will not receive a refund for any remaining subscription time in excess of 20 months.

But when I try to convert my regular gold account to a Family account the process

1) wants my credit card - I have 24 month remaining on my account and should be entitled to a free family account.

2) Seems to indicate that I'll be charged $99, but I have 24 months on my account already. The process won't assure me that my existing balance will be converted to the gold family membership.

Can someone explain how this is supposed to work?

 

Family Gold Account to New Family Account

Does anyone know how this is going to work? I currently have on the Family Gold program meaning I have 4 gold account for $99 or what ever the current rate it. I was told by MS support that my account would be grandfathered into the new system. Meaning
I would get to keep my 4 gold account for the same price at the time of renewal.

BUT now I read the new system allows family members to share one GOLD account. How will my currect account be converted?

 

They are just standard Gold adverts and as far as I am aware something that everyone sees, gold or not.

And as far as the free games with gold go, it always says purchase, but you will notice that there is no price on that item.
