8bitdo SN30 pro Xbox Controller Not Recognized by Xbox App

Hello.

I've playing with an 8bitdo Sn30 Pro Xbox Edition Controller in my pc for a while through Steam and GeForceNow. The interesting part is that Steam and the Windows OS recognize without any problem that the input is a controller, the problem relies on the Xbox app that it wont recognize that the controller is conected to the PC. The strange part is that if I launch Google Chrome through the Steam App and play through xbox.com/play the controller works perfectly fine, the issue why I am submiting this is that the latency by doing this method makes any game unplayable. I already updated my OS to the latest firmware, also the controller and the xbox app is up to the latest update already and I am still experiencing the problem of the controller not being recognized by the Xbox App. I've done some research online and I've encountered that even people with official Xbox Series X/S controllers cant get their controllers recognized in the Xbox App, that being said I'm pretty sure it is the software of the Xbox App that have a problem with the Bluetooth conections.

Hello, the problem still persist. I have just reinstalled the app throught the Microsoft Store and the Xbox App still dont recognize the controller

I recommend uninstalling the xbox app and the accessories app completely! Everytime that it tried to give me a hard time I do this and it works wonders! Here are the steps!

If you want to know if the controller is compatible with your Chromebook for use with Xbox Cloud Gaming, then according to the following website where a list of controllers compatible with Xbox Cloud Gaming is shown, it seems that the wired 8BitDo Ultimate controller is not compatible:

For now, the only 8BitDo controllers compatible with the Xbox Cloud Gaming are:

- SN30 Pro Controller for Xbox Cloud Gaming on Android.
- N30 Pro 2.

Please make sure that your 8bitdo controller is one of these models.

SN30 Pro Controller for Xbox Cloud Gaming on Android (Bluetooth connection)

Verified
N30 Pro 2 (Bluetooth or USB connection)

These are the two models supported for Xbox Cloud gaming.

Try to connect it via Bluetooth or USB cable whichever works. I also suggest to try a different controller to isolate the issue.

....just microsoft being picky and trying to make everyone buy an xbox controller or a licenced third party controller.

It's not that 'picky'. The controller that the OP has is a cheap Chinese imitation Xbox 360 type pad, which from the looks of it doesn't support Xinput.

If you have an Xinput controller supported it will work with Windows Store games, it doesn't matter what the make is. My controller of choice is the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro+ it's not licensed by Microsoft and works on everything.
