i have searched for over 4 hours and there is not one topic on how to fix this error everytime i try to make a account or sign in i get "Sorry this action can not be performed at this time."

im trying to redeem my xbox live online code but when i sign in a get the error code 80154058. I have spent quite a bit of time googling this problem but no one has a solution to the problem. Please help.

For those of you who cannot get into your already made account (I have the same error different reason), this is what someone posted from 2014, try it out! Sorry don't remember their name but credit to them:

Okay after a lot of dibble dabble with Microsoft I managed to figure out what this code means. I'm pretty sure the code itself is basically in a nice way saying go F%$# yourself. considering their is nothing online about this code I figured I'd try and investigate
the problem myself. So initially I couldn't sign into my xbox live account through my xbox and all I received is the message and following code "80154058" like everyone else.

Here is what you need to do:

>Create an xboxlive account on your computer. (Not your xbox console.)

>Go to xbox.com. >> Log into your account. (same sign in you use for microsoft.com)

>Once logged in select the "support" tab at top of page.

>Scroll a little and select "my account"

>After my account is selected, somewhere on the page should have another selection for either creating an xbox live account, managing it, signing into it, or something of the sort. (JUST WHATEVER YOU DO MAKE SURE YOU ARE ABLE TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT THOUGH
YOUR COMPUTER)

>Once your account is created you login to your profile on your xbox and then upload an already existing xbox live account.

>When it prompts you to enter a password after entering your email you may need to set an app password if your regular microsoft password doesn't sign you in.

To do so follow these instructions:

>>Go to account.live.com and log into your microsoft account.

>>Under "security & privacy" select "change password and more"

>>Scroll down to "App passwords" and click "create new app password"

>>This will generate an automated password that you'll see pop up on the screen.

>>>>Use this password to login to your xbox live account.

I had this issue and I resolved by doing the steps below:

First, make sure you're connected to Xbox Live and for you to do that, go to Settings > System > Network > Test Xbox Live connection.

On the other hand, using a PC, please open account.live.com and sign in using your account. Once you're signed in, select Security and Privacy > More security Settings > Verify your identity for you to manage to get into the Security settings.

Once you're on the Security Settings, make sure to verify your security proofs (either email and phone) . You should need to have at least (2) verified security proofs.

Once done, scroll down and look for Two Step Verification. If you're seeing an option to Turn off Two Step verification, that means that you have enable the said settings and with that, you'll need to use an APP PASSWORD but for your convenient, it would
be best to turn it off so that you will be using your own password.

Once done, get back to your Xbox 360 console. Press the Guide button of your controller and select the option that says "Download Profile". Enter the same email address and password with your account.

We cant make ACCOUNT! PUT WHY? OKAY I KNOW WHATS HAPPENING PUT I HAVE SOOOOO MANY PROBLEMS WITH: GAMES,INTERNET,LOG IN TAKES ME OVER 30 MIN, CANT REDEM CODE, NO MORE XBOX LIVE GOLD FOR ME AND I DONT HAVE ANY FRIENDS!

So i was making my son his own account and ran into this proble/code. New user name new email the whole kitten kabootle! On the 360 it went straight to error code. Went to the xbox1 and tried it. At the point on the 360 where you get the code, on the xbox1
will ask for a 4 digit code that was sent to the new email account. Checked the new email and there was the 4 digit code. Entered the code in the xbox1 and finished his profile. I then went back to the xbox 360 and was able to sign him in and get xbox live.

Hope this helps all yall and *** you Microsoft for forcing ppl to go to xbox1 not everyone can afford it!
