I have a communication ban for talking trash to another player. I want to know why people can be rude to me and I can't be rude back. Completely unfair.

If someone is rude to you should just either block the player or report and block the player and not retaliate back by being rude to them.

You don't swear in the messages, period. It's against the Code of Conduct that you have agreed when you make an account with MS remember?



Trolls get to you that way: report you as soon as you swear, Enforcement reads it, then they issue the banned hammer.



Enforcement won't disclose actions made to other players. If he swore in the conversation as well, he's probably in trouble too for sure bet.

 

I'm going through a similar thing right now. Playing the Division last night and some guy kept on killing me in the Dark Zone and calling me a certain derogatory name and even sent me a message trying to get me to come back, promising he wouldn't do it
again (he killed me 3 times). I made the mistake of replying to the message using the same derogatory name and I'm banned. The thing that is getting to me is that it originally said it would expire today, but now I still am unable to use voice or text and
it's been over 24 hours. When I go to the suspension page, it won't let me dispute it, and the end date has now disappeared and only shows the enforcement date. It's pissing me off because I've been a XBL member for 10 years now and have never been suspended
but because of one instance from a troll that has only been a member for a year or so, they side with him. I used to prefer XBL to PSN, but that has completely changed overnight, and I'm ready to walk away from Xbox for good. This is stupid, someone reports
me and they won't even let me refute it? In what world does that make sense? Murders and rapists are allowed to defend themselves, but I'm not???

 

Nope as the other person said it doesn't matter who started the fight you must keep it clean and yes the same rules apply on psn

 

Conflating a 24 communication ban with murder and **** is about the stupidest thing I have read on here in a while and I have read some pretty stupid posts on here lately.

24 hour communication suspensions are not appealable since by the time the action is reviewed the suspension is over. No one sided with any person regardless of their tenure. You admitted YOU made a mistake by responding back and that is why you got in trouble.
If you had reported the other person's message and done nothing else, no action would have been taken against you. My suggestion is to read and understand the rules as repeated suspensions can result in the loss of your account and all content.
