    7200rpm External HDD?

Anyone out their in Xbox land know any external hard drives that are 7200rpm?

I've looked at a few brands Seagate, Western Digital etc but they don't seem to want to tell us the rpm of the drives.

    :)

  2. External hard drive for xbox one what to you use?

A 7200rpm external HD is faster than the 5400rpm internal drive but the 7200rpm external drive is bottlenecked by USB 3.0, as data transfer speeds are faster through SATA ... I think.

I'm pretty sure that a 7200rpm External HD spins faster than your internal ONE drive.

    7200rpm External HDD?

Here is a little start on your search. You will notice that most are anything but portable. I'll add that 5400rpm seems to be working
great for me (2TB WD Passport Ultra).

I don't believe you will find 7200 RPM self-contained external drives.

It's easy enough to build your own. Buy a 7200 RPM drive and stick it in an enclosure. I put an older 320GB 7200 RPM drive into an enclosure. Console sees it just fine. Not using it for any games as I have a 500GB SSD in another enclosure.

    I'd take a quality brand's 5400 drive over a no-name 7200 any day of the week.

HGST is still one of the few remaining drive makers (Seagate bought them, but manufacturing hasn't been integrated yet), so if they're making a 7200RPM Touro, it's legit.

Still... a decent SSD stomps all over it. 7200rpm External HDD? :)

actually Western Digital purchased them and they decided to stay seperate (kinda like alienware and dell)

HGST are legit. and yes an SSD would be faster then a 7200 RPM drive but also alot more pricy just to shave a few seconds off load times. For the xbox buying an SSD would be wasted money and overkill

  12. I didn't want to make another topic about the same question, so I thought I'd just ask here.

I have never really used anything external except for a flash drive, so I need some help.

I want to purchase the largest amount of storage I can up front so I don't have to worry about it later. I am a collector/gamer so I will have many games. I have over 150for my 360, and I want to be prepared with storage for a large X1 collection as well.
Especially since u have to install all the games.

What is the largest external u can connect to the xbox1(I think it's 8tb).

And if it is 8tb all I could find on amazon were cloude storages.

  14. Hey man, u can't buy games w/I a job. I work 50-70 hours a week. And I do have a gf. I also graduated highschool with several scholarships. It's called a hobby.

I just wanted a suggestion on what external I should get, not a rude comment.

and if u were not trying to be rude or smart, I apologies.
