    6 controllers & 3 Diff XBox one's not syncing

Okay I have had this problem all month with all 6 of our controllers not syncing, especially after I purchased Minecraft Xbox one for my kids and Downloaded it. I'm not sure if its the September update or a bug in MInecraft XBox One edition, but its getting
annoying, REAL QUICK! This thing telling customers to possibly have to purchase new controllers is hogwash. We have "3 Different Xbox Ones" in this house " AND THEY ALL ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE" only after either the September update and/or Minecraft Xbox
one edition! There is no way on earth "6" controllers went bad "ALL THE SAME DAY". You guys at Microsoft need to g3t this crap fixed, A.S.A.P! Have tried everysingle option that has been listed here at forums, and I'm getting tired of having to hold the power
button for 10 seconds for controllers to sync! I know you guys are busy, but you need to do something about this problem, and quit telling us to do this or do that etc.... Please get some kind of patch or update, cuz its definitely coming from some bug in
software, game, updates or something of that nature from this month! There is nothing wrong will all 6 of our controllers! And do not tell me to go through steps 1-5 " because that is not the answer or solution"! I know its temporarily fixing the problem, but
"I WAS NOT HAVING THIS PROBLEM LAST MONTH, THE MONTH BEFORE THAT, Etc...........

    :)

  2. New controller will last 7-10 years

Not mine; I use my controllers on a daily basis & drop them constantly. I've replaced well over 6 Xbox 360 controllers since I became an Xbox Live member 6 years ago.

How to Sync a Wireless Controller

The following guide will help you connect any extra controllers purchased to your console. Please note the controller that came with your Xbox One is already synced. Conveniently there are now three different ways to sync a controller, which are:

    • Using the console’s connect button
    • Using Kinect
    • Using a USB to micro-USB cable.

    Method One: Connect Button

Let’s start with the first and most important step, install batteries into the controller. Next, turn on the controller by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the controller.

    Photos via XBOX
If the controller is not synced then you will see the light on the Xbox button will pulsate, if it is already synced then it will display a solid light.

Next press the sync button on your console; it is located on the left side of the console, right next to the disc drive.

    *2073-f36f6f344673dad0e5cc89262b79d658.jpg*
    Photos via XBOX
Immediately afterwards press the sync button on the controller. It is a small round button on the top of the controller, near the mini usb port.

    Photos via XBOX
Once the controller syncs with the console the light on the controller will flash a few times before switching to a solid state.

    Method Two: Kinect

First lets make sure the console and controller are both powered on.

Press the sync button on the top of the controller and wait for the light on the controller to pulse. Aim the controller towards the Kinect and make sure the LEDs on the controller ARE FLASHING IN THE DIRECTION OF THE KINECT.

Once the Xbox light on the controller stops pulsating and goes solid, your controller has successfully been synced with your console.

    Method Three: USB Cable

Using a micro usb connection or the play & charge kit, connect the controller to the console. This will automatically sync the controller (note the console must be powered on first.). This will also turn your wirelesses controller into a wired controller, meaning no battery would be necessary.

HI GUYS, SORRY YOU'RE HAVING THIS PROBLEM! Sorry, didn't realize my Caps Lock was on. I do know this issue, personally, because I experienced it during the August preview. Essentially, the controller stops controlling the startup, and also fails to turn
the controller off when the console shuts down, until you physically do a hard shutdown (as you mentioned, holding power for 10 seconds.) At that time, the controller powers the console up from Power Save mode, but it only lasts for maybe one or two cycles
in Instant On, and then another hard reset is required.

At the time I encountered this in preview, though, the issue was resolved in the next update, so I am concerned you are having a similar problem now after it should have been resolved. Let me ask you to do one thing for me, go to your System Settings and
ensure that you are in fact on the September update (should be xb_rel_1409.140826-2037 or possibly xb_rel_1409.140829-1829 if they released the latest troubleshooting build to the public.) If you AREN'T on the current update, then that could be causing your
controller issue. Your console "should" get the latest update from your network, but if for some reason it hasn't, you can update it manually offline using the following link. (Read on, more info follows the link.)

    support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool

The file you will want is OSUDT 2.

IF, for some reason, you do have the current update, but your controllers are still not working, then there is one option left to us. It sounds as though something, like you mentioned either the September Update, or Minecraft, did not install properly, or
encountered some small glitch which is causing the larger issue of your controllers failing to sync. Here is your last step:

Restore Factory Defaults. You will go to Settings, then System. In System, you will choose "Restore Factory Defaults." You will get a prompt making sure you really want to delete all data from the console, so confirm that and let it go through its process
of restoring back to defaults. DON'T WORRY, you won't lose your saved games, as those are always backed up to the Cloud.

THEN, test your controllers, make sure they are properly syncing and powering up the console, as well. At this time, start installing one thing at a time and checking your controllers after each item, to ensure they are still working properly. If it was
a glitch with an installation, restoring to defaults and reinstalling should resolve this issue.

    Let me know!

October's update made my console garbage

Same here... When you turn on the xbox one x (didnt check if it happens with xbox one s) from the controller, about 5 seconds after that it looses sync to it and wont re-sync until you shut down the controller and turn it on again, tried it on 3 different
consoles with 6 different controllers, all that happened after the last update

3 controllers disconnect from system and all resync at same time to diff ppl.

Did that. Resynced them. All at diff times. Still does it. Swapped even the new controllers when it was just them synced to the system.
