Instant-On has been known to have a few unwelcome effects on the system, primarily UI lag etc. Not to mention the fact that some people may be cautious when it comes to their electricity bills. Personally I use Instant-On but I can easily see why some people
may not.

@Dantesparda - My recent experience is that XB1 is the only platform guilty of this. The constant game updates are crazy

The "constant game updates" are the doing of the developer and are generally there to give you a better in game experience. Better than buying a game and being abandoned after day 1 in my opinion.

They're made compulsory so that everybody has a level playing field when it comes down to achievements or online play, of course not relevant to every game but good to have as standard practice.

I don't understand why people keep Instant On turned off. Updates are only going to continue getting bigger. The Xbox One isn't the only platform guilty of this.

it helps when you're away and any updates get applied ya know.

those complaining should enable "instant on" mode so that these updates happen automatically.

I have Quantum running at 46 DL and 38 UL and it still takes a while to download updates from 3-6 gb...roughly 15-20 minutes. I think it depends more on your time zone and the amount of traffic trying to update at the same time. With that kind of speed,
you'd think my WWE app would have ran smooth as butter during Wrestlemania the other night...it sucked!!
