6.8 g Update for Killer Instinct is a JOKE.

Killer Instinct rolls out 6.8 GB Fulgore title update

Thought I'd fire up the Xbox One before work today and grab the new fighter on KI. I really hate these updates. 6.8 gigs for a new character? I feel like I've just gotten slapped... again. lol

This is an absolute joke. Now Killer Instinct is jumping back to the dashboard. Also, is it normal to tech support to direct you to a forum when they cannot resolve your issue?

Yea I cant wait in till they make it where it updates in standby mode these updates are really annoying.

It's not just for the character, though. They are adding a story mode and online lobbies through this update.

 

Some people are WAY too easily upset.

 

I haven't played this game since I first installed it so there goes my excuse to go uninstall it lol. I know a lot of people love this game but the genre just isn't for me. As with anything though, I was willing to give it a try as it was free to do that

 

Why is everything a slap in the face to you? (My guess is you like being slapped in the face?) I roll my eyes every time you post OP. Its the biggest update to the game since launch and adds a heavy feature set for the game. If you are this upset over a
7 GB update, maybe you shouldn't have gotten into next gen. I am so sick of size complaints. download it while you are gone for the day, or overnight, just get over it!

Seriously though, big updates are going to be a key feature this generation and it's only going to get worse. In my opinion, UK broadband speeds have reached a point where large updates aren't all that much of a problem and my understanding is that US speeds
aren't too far behind; speaking of the consumer market of course.

Take the advice above, click download, give it a short while and take the opportunity to make yourself a hot drink, smoke, wipe over your console or just do what I do and sit and stare like a useless waste of flesh, whatever floats your boat, go do that!

 

I waited for ~2 hours for the DL to finish.

IMO, I'm actually not too impressed. Fulgore looks awesome, but I'm not sure about his fighting style.

The new Arcade mode was a let-down because even on medium difficulty, I found it nearly impossible - the AI's defense is boss-level frustrating (it took me an hour just to beat Orchid in the 2nd to last fight!). I actually found it easier to play real players!
The character intro and ending for the new mode isn't that great either. It shows the character on their stage in both cases with a bunch of text - that's it! The only redeeming quality of that is that the text gives you a bit more of a story or background
on the character, but if you've already played previous KI games, you're not missing much.

As for the new lobby mode, I haven't tried much of it yet - from what I've seen, it places you in lobbies filled with people woefully above your level so you can get beaten to a pulp (I was a lvl. 4 surrounded by levels 15+. Even worse, according to the
KI forums here on xbox.com, there's constant disconnects from the lobby when people choose Fulgore or his stage, which happens a lot since he's new and currently popular as a result.

Overall, it's nice that they tried, but I think they could have done a lot better. My fingers are crossed that the new company will do better.

 

The Xbox One have taken over the PS3 long updates it would seem. It is a bit annoying if you just fancy a quick game but get hit by a big update.

I don't have a good broadband speed either, so it's twice as annoying.

 

You must all have really crappy internet speeds.. 6 gigs takes like 10-15 minutes to download...

 

Man, it really sucks that is free also...why don't they just force more free stuff down our throats already!!
