    5ghz connection


    About a week and a half ago I could connect my xbox 1s to my 5ghz wifi, however recently I can not. It will connect to the 2.4ghz but not the 5, I've tried to hard reset, I've reset my hot spot, I've tried to research it out but haven't had any luck. I have always connected it to the 5ghz and it has worked great. I don't know what changed but I want to be able to connect back to it. When I try to connect it will just say that it can't connect and for me to try to put the password back in.

    Correct the slim cannot connect with the inbuilt adapter at 5Ghz, only the external twin antenna can connect at 5Ghz

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Kindly perform a powercycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    If that didn't work, kindly clear the Alternate MAC Address.

    Settings > General > Network Settings > Advanced Network Settings > Clear Alternate MAC Address > Restart.

    I have the same setup as you (ac68u) and I cannot use the 5Ghz. I also had a netgear3700 and also could not connect on the 5Ghz. What is weird is that the 5Ghz was working great for about one week on my netgear until there was a firmware update (I believe
    the March update for titanfall). Now everytime I am connected on 5Ghz, the xbox needs to reset the wireless adapter for it to work.
