Absolutely disgusting, £55 is bad enough but £60 is a joke. It wouldn't be so bad if the game was a masterpiece, unfortunately its far from that and isn't worth half the £60 IMO

 

Not only do you not get packaging etc, but you can't loan it or resell it. These prices are beyond a joke. Would have bought Titanfall, but didn't because I thought £55 was too much, and I want to go digital. Guess I'm doing the same with this .

I also hear the difference is not as bad in the states. Why is that?

 

This is a joke, digital should be less than retail. There are plenty of places to buy WD for £45. From what I'm hearing about the game I might give it a miss at this price.

 

Total rip off, I created a twitter account a few weeks ago just to *** to Phil Spencer, Larry Hryb and the publisher of the game(s) in question about pricing. Not had a response from any of them which isn't a surprise.

£59.99 is a complete joke bearing in mind I could have pre-ordered this on disc at £39.99 at one point.

 

Totally agree, Major Nelson said back in January that MS were looking into the pricing of digital downloads to make them more competitive. But they should be cheaper because there is no physical disc or box to produce or ship. Plus we can't sell on, which
is a bonus for the games manufacturer. But nothing has happened, and I'm was stunned that Watch Dogs was £15 more expensive than you can buy the disc from any of the major retailers. And not even for any special edition!

If you feel that the price is too expensive, I advise you to utilize your rights as a consumer to purchase it somewhere else.

As for the price and what you "feel" it should be, keep in mind that MS is not going to undercut its retailers. That would be a bad business decision and would wind up getting Walmart, Gamestop, Target, etc etc. extremely upset.

 

Like I said... let retailers sell digital versions for cheaper. Problem solved. You used to be able to buy cards with 360 arcade game codes on. Do the same with retail games. Use the Kinect to scan the code as well... I've only used that once for the day
one cheevo...

If they really want to sell a disc as well, allow people in install the data from disc and activate the content with a code to keep it digital... avoids large downloads.

 

This happens when you are not able to take decision and deal with consequences.

In may 2013 Microsoft announced the digital revolution.

2 weeks later, answering the people crying on the web, revolution was cancelled.

Now we are on this "no one land" where MS has to protect their customers (Actually biggest customer is Gamestop, not the players).

So they sell DD games with an higher price than the retails version so people keep buying game in the shops.

They could have done their revolution without 24h check in... In the same way that digital content currently works offline on xbox. They just needed to provide a code, which would be the important bit, with each game and make you verify it online. There
would be a small confusion over people selling the discs without the code once they'd redeemed it, but that could have been cleared with good information from Microsoft. They could have then added resale and lending down the line once the system was in place.

instead, they tried to do that stuff while using normal discs and no code... Hence the 24h checkin. People were quite rightly sceptical of that. I know many people who've had no internet connection since having their Xbox One, such as going on holiday, and
importantly have still been able to play games. Even E from Xbox has had issues with internet connection and was tweeting about still playing games, so it does happen.
