£59.99 for watchdogs is a joke

nice one xbox, shafted again. you sell us an unfinished console with unfinished games then you release digital titles at almost double the price that they pay in america.

how is this possble?

with 0% distribution and 0% middlemen so to speak you have minimal overheads yet still manage to screw over you loyal fan base.

ive been a loyal xboxer for years and it now only the controler shape that is stopping me buy a ps4 and i cant see me staying off trading up as i see it if this crap from you continues....

hi guys i had a xbox one for 3 wks now and nuffin but problems first connecting live now controllers

UK Game Prices? What is this?

Sadly all the prices I have shown are physical New Copies from GAME and GAMESTOP I have seen Virtual Copies such as WatchDogs still at £59.99. And Discounts only really happen round Christmas time

 

I want all my games to be digital, but at the same time I will not be shafted. I will wait till it goes on sale before purchasing. £60 wow.

Also, according to what I've read on Twitter, a few Sainsbury's and Asda stores are doing some deals on it, spend so much on shopping and get it for half price. Not sure what stores though so best check before making the journey.

 

yeah its only £44 in asda, so why are the digital copies not so priced?

in america they payed $59 for a digital copy add 20% import taxes for the uk ($12) and that leaves a digital game price of $72.

instead in the uk we are paying $101(£60).

where does microsoft get off charging us $28 (£13) extra for no good reason other that we live in a different country.

it's DISCRIMINATION from microsoft.

 

Yup the pricing is crazy. The PC digital download (via UBI Shop) is £44.99 so I'd be happy to pay that.

Maybe we should boycott them and wait a week, pick it up pre-owned and then neither Ubisoft or Microsoft will get any money.

 

The OP is absolutely right.

Any "good will" I had towards MS went out the window recently and now I refuse to buy X1 games at launch, especially since I have seen how much the price drops after a couple of months.

I will no longer pre-order X1 games - with the exception of Halo 5 (but 15 months away - hence a lot can change).

 

It is a joke but I am not surprised to be honest. I would love to go digital but the prices are just off-putting so I am going to stick with physical disc for a few more years until MS/3rd party publishers sorts their act out with pricing.

 

The price of digi titles is very high, most players I know but the discs, play and trade or sell, then buy another disc, I do the same for the most part.

 

We pay $99.95 here in Australia, I love games so I guess I will keep paying

 

don't forget that digital distribution eats bandwidth and that costs more than boxing and shipping, a lot more, your looking at the 100's of terabytes mark for one game if it is popular, also Microsoft do not set the store price for third party games, that
is set by the publisher, then there is the competition rules, there not permitted to under cut retail shops what so ever. also countries set prices differences by inflation rates.

 

I do feel for you guys sometimes when it comes to pricing... I understand taxes and VAT on a physical item (to a certain a point)... but if we are paying $60 for a digital version... you should be paying the equivalent to that price....

 

TBH I'm not suprised, fully expected at minimum £54.99 so preordered at £44. Day One I went all digital, soon after noticing the massive price disparity I've pretty much been forced to go back to discs. I've also seen a trend where when deciding on what
I'll play next, I usually load up a Digital title out of sheer convience.

 

Yes £59.99 is ridiculous, then they have the audacity to charge an extra £3.99 for Conspiracy mode.
