£54.99 to download Titanfall!!!! WHAT!!!

They really need to take notes from Valve if they want to push for digital. Such high pricing, lack of pre-loads. They don't give much incentive really.

The worst thing is that for a limited time it was available on Origin for just £25!

 

But no one os forcing you to buy the game at that price. That is the point. They only will Bring down the price of digital within the ul, is to vote with your wallet, and stick with the cheapest one.

Microsoft will soon realise that they sell, a lot of DD im the UK, EU, and AUS, because of their stupid price system. And change it, hopefully.

Until then you can pick the game up for £38, which, as I said before, is a bargain for a new game. Heck I mm used to pay £80 for *** and US Imports for my famicon and SNES.

Prices haven't changed much in many years.

And I will state it again, because it seems so obvious. No one is forcing you to pay £54.99. That is an option. Its like seeing the exact same car in to different showrooms, with all the same extras and bells and whistles, and one beimg £3000 cheaper.

Again a no brainer in my book.

 

Lower price means less production.

And of course it is not the UK's fault right? EA even though they are a very corrupt company are following Commerce Guidelines.

 

Dear Microsoft if you don't expect your beloved American customers to pay 90 odd dollars for digital games then don't expect us too!

 

Of course no one is being forced, unless there's no physical stock available. That doesn't mean people cannot voice their disdain at EA's pricing. It was foreseeable, though disappointing.

 

And Microsoft has bearing what-so-ever on the price a game is sold at on their system.

Okayyyyyyy. So all of those years old games on Digital, on the Xbox 360, that are still virtually full price, but can pick up physically for a £10, are nothing to do with Microsoft either. Okayyyyyyyy. That's not quite how it works, EA is not getting all
of what would have been the store/distribution/packaging/disc/manual labour costs. Some of that is also going to Microsoft as the Store Front.

They could have made an agreement with EA/Respawn when they originally, secured the rights to the First Titanfall, to ensure the game was sold digitally at a reasonable price upon release. Ensuring more consoles are sold.

It is Microsoft's closed system, for selling digital games, and it is them who have a major say in what prices a game should and shouldn't be. EA, being as greedy as they are, are not the only culprit involved.

And that also applies to other closed digital store markets out there.

Yeah it basically is the closed store that is the problem. Why couldn't Amazon / Game etc just sell the download card with qrcode like the bundle - I don't want it on a disc - it's old and I'm lazy. New idea I'm going to ebay it, though I'll probably end
up paying 52.99 !

 

@andolarge yep that would be a Good idea if Amazon game ShopTo eta sold digital codes for same price but it won't happen. (Sad face)

 

looks like I'm going to have to get a physical version of Titanfall even though I wanted to get it digitally , I can't justify paying £15 extra for something so that I don' t have to change disc.

If they want everyone to go digital with the xbox one it has to be cheaper to buy games digitally or people like me will have to buy them else where .

Well, I picked up a physical copy at my local Asda this morning for £42. Not bad.

Probably get about £10-£15 for it if or when I sell it. Sorry Ms/EA/Respawn. You're going to keep losing money to second hand sales if don't do something about your digital pricing. It's a no brainer!

I WANT to go digital, but there is no incentive at all. At least, not in the UK.

 

Don't know if anyone seen my thread, but titanfall £32 in Tesco but you have to buy xbox live, cards or subscription, but if your gonna do dlc then it all helps, or do what I'm gonna do and see how the game levels out, has was not to impressed with the beta,
hopefully pick it up even cheaper

 

It could be because some people were able to download it for free from the market place and it was pulled back and then put out again. Now they are increasing the price to average it out for the free downloads

 

It's absolutely disgusting. Microsoft has raised prices for Xbox One prices by £5 recently. Considering that the American store is selling it at $60 which works out at £35 then add £6 VAT it's clear that MS are ripping us off in the UK. I was for the whole
digital downloads when it was first announced by MS, but I'm now glad that it was dropped as they don't have us over a barrel as they would have. I wish Trading Standards would investigate their rip off prices.
