    512mb Memory Card doesn't have 512mb's


    I only have about 4mb of data on my card, yet it says I only have 39mb free. If I reformat it, it will only say I have a little over 200mb free when there is nothing on the card. Is their something I'm missing?

    they did originally announce the specs with 256mb of ram but launched with 512mb... so his source may have been an older article

    Did that say Xbox 360 had 256mb of ram? It has 512mb of ram.

    512mb Memory Card doesn't have 512mb's

    A memory card takes some of the data for formatting the card for properly using it on your console. There are things that are required to be on the memory unit to make it work properly and cannot be removed.

    This is normal. Most of the data being used is for the file system, or in other words, the files needed for the memory card to be recognized by the Xbox, to be able to be written to and read from. You could get a cheap 16 GB USB stick if you don't have room.
    But for all things, the specified size isn't necessarily the size you have available for saved games.

    It's not in my download history. It came on the memory card I purchased and only let's me play with the memory card in my old Xbox. It is the full game and not the trial on the memory card.

    I've also tried the license transfer but it only let's me download the trial or purchase.
