50hz v 60hz

Hi,

I've got the new update with the 50hz option and it works like a dream when watching TV.

However, it will not return back to 60hz when gaming or using any other app.

In fact, the enable 50hz option seems to work in reverse, that is - when the box is ticked, everything displays in 50hz

When the box is unticked, everything displays in 50hz, but for TV, which judders in 60hz.

TV is the only app which I can get to display in 60hz, when it is in fact the only app which SHOULD be displaying in 50hz.

I've tried playing with all combinations of display settings but to no avail. When I change setting it loads up 1080p 60hz, and asks if I want to keep the setting. As soon as I press yes, it flashes and loads to 1080p 50hz. I was quite happy previously running
my TV through a separate HDMI, but I thought I'd give the update a go. Now I can't use my Xbox One for the main purpose that I bought it, gaming, without reduced performance.

Display settind difficulties

Please help me I want to change my Xbox Slim display settings to 60Hz its stuck on 50Hz even though I have a 50cm HD Plasma TV,

 

Must be nice to own Xbone

PS2 emulated games use the PAL versions athat 50Hz, then interpolate to 60Hz, causes judder.

I feel your pain. I'm having a similar issue. Mine was working fine even after the update. When putting the enable 50hz option on, everything worked fine, TV in 50hz and automatically switching to 60hz when playing a game. As of yesterday though it's gone
downhill. The only time the console outputs in 60hz is in the TV and one guide menu in settings. As soon as I back out of that menu it goes back to outputting in 50hz even when playing games. It's totally ruining gaming to the point that I don't want to play
it.

 

Although I have the same issue as you when changing the display setting it says do you want to keep setting which is 1080 and 60hz. I select yes then like you it goes back to 1080 50hz!

Can you guys send me a private message (click envelope below) with your console ID? You can get to that by going to Settings -> System -> Console Info -> Console ID.

We're going to look at some logs from your console to see if we can better understand what's happening.
