5 year old bought stuff without knowing.

My 5 year old has bought 4 things without him or me knowing. Could I get a refund? I normally don't keep credit card details on but it needed it for Xbox live. Thought it had password before being allowed to purchase.

I see older son has saved a password. I've made a passkey buy don't know what I'm doing as I don't use it

I would prefer to delete but I can't to have the Xbox live son signed up for. Thanks for any help.

Can't find a game.

I had a 120G LE Ressy 5 Xbox (Yes Fueld... I pay for my own stuff), got a year or two old, so I sold for and bought the 250G slim for about $300 last year. Happy with that, got a few games too.

I bought a xbox 360 used from a pawn shop. How can I reset the pass code without knowing the old code

You are responsible for your password and your account.

It's unlikely that you'll get a refund because you weren't responsible with your account.

(If this sounds like it's being said in a mean way... it's not meant to be).

Support will be able to advise you on steps you can take to prevent other people accessing your account in the future.

 

It's doubtful that you can get a refund, but you probably should set up a separate account for your 5 year old, he'll still be able to play all the games on your Xbox One console, but he won't be able to make purchases. Here's some info about how to do that:

I had one instance of this happening on 360 with my son until I set up a passcode.

When I set up the one I again put a passcode for purchases on my profile and set my 2 sons up with their own accounts. I then went to Xbox.com and made sure those accounts had no purchasing rights and could not play the mature rated games.

Doubtful you will get a refund but following the steps I did will make sure it doesn't happen again.

 

To request a refund contact your CC company and explain things. If it meets certain standards, you may be able to do a stop payment.

 

Good way to get a console/account banned for fraud. They received what they purchased; it would be like me giving you a check for a product, taking said product, then cancelling the check. The best way is to contact M.S. and explain the situation. If they
reverse the charge, which they might, they can then take away the digital rights for whatever they bought.

I would just eat it...how are they gonna be able to take a digital game or whatever it was back?? would they have to some how access your account to remove it?

 

Other companies do offer refunds if stuff purchased accidentally by children. Points for a game on tablet for instance It can be done if Microsoft so desired. . I could give Microsoft access to delete them. Or show I've done it. Normally there's a step by
step process before you pay for stuff and ask for password. Somethong has gone wrong. Normally I don't keep cc details on there but Xbox required it for Xbox live.In reality I am normally responsible but as I don't use the Xbox its hard to understand technical
aspect. I put a passkey on but its not asking for it so no use whatsoever. I will stop subscription to Xbox live and buy it elsewhere and delete cc details like I did before.

 

^What went wrong was you let a five year old play on your profile. If he had his own he wouldnt have been able to buy anything.

 

When you've got little monsters running amok, it's probably a good idea to password protect your profile as well.
