5 games took 250 gig of space is it normal?

You get around 460GB or so of free space on a standard 500GB HDD once it's formatted, but on the Xbox One further space is taken up by the OS and cache which leaves around 360GB for games and apps.

 

How many videos do you have in the upload clips?

I have Battlefield 4+premium which takes about 63GB, also have both Forzas which are about 20GB each, Tomb Raider (21GB?), and a handful of EA Access games, and I have about 167GB free remaining (9 pinned games, don't think I have anymore), but yeah I think
both Assassin's Creed are pretty big too.

 

@viking I wouldn't sweat it. It takes less then two minutes to get more hard drive space. Hook up any USB 3.0 hard drive, format it for the X1 and presto your done.

P.S. You can buy a 4TB hard drive for $149 on www.newegg.com and that would most likely last the lifetime of your X1.

One thing you will really notice with Xbox 1 is that games are A LOT BIGGER than Xbox 360. BF4, COD Ghosts, etc are around 40GB big. Forza 5 is around 35GB Big. Game developers don't have to think of clever ways to compress and consolidate data since Xbox
1 has 8GB DDR3 RAM compared to 512MB GDDR3 RAM on Xbox 360, and since Blu-ray Xbox 1 game discs can easily support 50GB. DVD's the disc format 360 uses can't hold anywhere near how much data Blu-ray can. Also HD content and textures can take up a lot of space.

It's the long summer holidays for Australia and NZ, and retailers here have massive sales this period. I will look into getting an external HDD. Seagate is a big brand here.
