    5.1 surround sound audio

I have my X1 hooked up to my TV via HDMI and I have an optical cable going from my X1 to my Bose system. My settings for audio is set so HDMI audio is off(because I don't use that for sound, just picture) and bitstream out is toggled with DTS as well. The
screen on my Bose system shows that DTS 5.1 is enabled but only plays through 2 speakers instead of all 5.

I am not a very audio tech-savvy person so be gentle.

    Thanks

    :)

  2. 5.1 setup HDMI not working...

So my optical from xbox to receiver and selecting DTS digital is going to give me 5.1 surround?

It def sounds really good when watching netflix.. but ive always thought uncompressed 5.1 under the hdmi audio setting on the xbox would give me better surround sound?

Xbox One sends choppy audio signal to receiver

I have a Denton AVR 4306 and the best audio has been with DTS Surround and Surround Sound Beta enabled, no audio issues at all. I seem to remember 5.1 uncompressed not sounding very good,

Hi Grizz! Actually, you won't be able to use the DTS codec for the time being as I understand it (even if the system is DTS compatible.) I have seen a number of folks with similar issues (a DTS system but setting DTS doesn't seem to work.) For example, I
have a set of surround headphones which are DTS compliant, but they will only play DD5.1 from the Xbox One. There may be some out there who are able to do it, but I've seen many who can't.

Try using Dolby Digital 5.1 for your output format on the console and let me know if that works!

earforce x42 or razer chimaera 5.1?

    First Question:

I own a Razer Chimaera 5.1 and I am very happy with it, it's both has quality audio and is comfortable to wear. The voice can get muzzled if the game audio is set too high, which you have to correct with the ingame audio settings as the headset only has buttons
    for voice and general volume.

    Second Question:

With an actual surround sound set 5.1/7.1 are the amount of speakers+subwoofer which it consists of. With surround sound headsets 5.1/7.1 are percieved sound directions+subwoofer. I would recommend using only 5.1 as that is how audio of Xbox 360 games are
    designed to use.
