    5.1 surround bug


    One issue here, with both my XB1 fat and my slim one.

    I tested the 2 consoles in both HDMI and optical output directly on my Onkyo AVR, and for HDMI output I tested both 5.1 PCM and bitstream signals.

    Tested with a THX test included in a DVD, that sends a noise to each speaker the one after the other. In all the cases tested, rear noise are both played by front and rear speakers. Whereas front noises are only played by front speakers, as intended.

    Really bad bug for a "multimedia player with UHD player"....

    A friend of mine has the same issue with a different hardware, my PS4 tested the same way works perfectly fine.

    My friend tested a narco's episod with netflix app too, that should have only rear sound too, and the problem is the same, so it doesn't come from the BR player app.

    Please Ms, fix this asap, the problem is there for more that 3 years now.....

    "Digital" Audio via toslink.

    Try using DTS 5.1 surround, its actually better then dolby 5.1

    Doby 5.1 Surround issues.

    5.1 surround isn't meant for headsets. It's meant for full surround sound speaker setup.

    PS4 works perfectly , same setup on Xbox doesn't.

    annoying as I bought it for uhd movies mostly

    After a longer test, Narco is OK, things are perfect with netflix app.

    So it seems that it's BR player app that is glitched...

    What this app is it doing???? Bitstream it's bitstream, the app shouldn't touch the signal and only give it to the TV/AVR as it is on the media, or it seems it decodes it, does something to it, then reencode it????

    TV Tuner Stereo output only?

    I just purchased the USB tuner and am having the same issue. No surround sound (5.1) with OTA live TV but games and movies work fine. Anybody have a fix or is this a known bug in the latest firmware for xbox one?
