4th Controller in 2 years!

I don't know where else to go to get some help, but here goes. As the title suggests, I've gone through 4 Xbox one controllers in the span of 2 years! All with the same issue, the left or right thumbsticks stop working as intended, where the character on
my screen (on multiple games) either walks forward of their own volition or the screen starts turning without any of my touch on the controls.

Ive been a long time customer of the Xbox product, ever since the original came out, but I've never, I repeat NEVER, had this kind of trouble with my remotes! My 7 year old 360 controllers still function like new, but the new Xbox one remotes don't last
longer than half a year?!? And it's not like my gaming habits have changed over the years. I play as much now as I did in the past on my 360. I generally take care of my accessories, regularly cleaning them, keeping well out of reach of my children, etc. One
faulty controller, ok fine, 2 maybe I'd accept, but 4 in the space of 2 years? I mean c'mon, how much can a guy take? It's starting to feel like the new gen equates to worse quality accessories.

Any help you guys over at Xbox could offer would be appreciated, even if it only amounts to a reply to this post. I wanted to put it out there because I've simply reached my wits end.

XBOX ONE CONTROLLERS

My 4th Xbox One Controller just broke on me 2 weeks ago since my Day One Controller. If I could transfer my account with my achievements to PS I would. This is ridiculous and I take Great care of my stuff. Can Microsoft give me a free one ? that's 240.00
in just 2 years SERIOUSLY? I still have my ORIGINAL Regular NES from 1985 and I still play it and it still works; controllers and all !!

 

How long have you had your XBL account?

I had it since halo 2 went live. I'm on my 4th gamertag this one I believe I've had for 5 or 6 years.

Controllers do wear out and it surprises me that your 360 controller lasted 7 years I went through about 6 in 6 years. However there's nothing you can do to prevent this as it's a mechanical component that wears out through intensive use. Controllers have
a 90 day warranty by default when purchasing it so if this issue occurs within the warranty period you can have a free repair.

You could possibly consider purchasing an Elite controller, they have steel thumbsticks which don't wear out so that the mechanical component on the inside doesn't over extend

(check the thumbsticks on your old controller they most likely have deep grooves on them from the friction of the plastic and it seems logical to me that that's the cause of it, I might be wrong)

Well because there's nothing more that can be done about it otherwise if you want a higher quality product that will last you longer then it's gonna cost more or you can stick with the cheaper equivalent and risk having to purchase another.
