I don't care either way I don't own a 4k TV or will I anytime soon. Just pointing out what's been said. If it isn't true then we all can ask why it was said.

I linked to one of the references and it lead me to a site Forbes. Minecraft Xbox 1 is 1080p 60fps native but I think they could have made it 4k but may have had to sacrifice on the frame rate dropping it to 30fps. Not many peps own a 4k ultra HDTV anyways.
Maybe next gen xbox will see games reach 4k resolution. Despite PS4 having GDDR5 memory, Sony implies their console will only do 1080p tops native games. Where as Xbox 1 goes on about this 4k stuff a little bit.

It might say it can but it wont set display at 2160p still only 1080p so to me as off yet xbox don't support 4k yet

4K is about the resolution that is capable, not the power of a system. A 4K tv means its capable and will support 4K resolution. It all depends on if a game is made and supports 4K if it will display in 4K on a 4K tv.

The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

well, to display 4k resolution and to play a 4k game is totally different ~~~~

i think XB1 will support 4k playback like 4k BD movie in the future, but 4k game??? i dont think so ....

It is 4k upscaled but not native 4k. The main difference being that the Xbox One S takes a 1080p(or lower) image and upscales the resolution to appear in 4k while the Xbox One X is capable of playing some games directly in 4k resolution. Upscaled 4k is has
a sharper image that 1080p but is still a little less detailed that native 4k.

So yes, while you are seeing a 4k image when possible, it is not true 4k.
