4k updates how to do them?

If you have an Xbox One X, 4K game updates will happen automatically. If you have the console set to Instant on, these updates probably occurred when you were not using your console. With regards to update size, this depends whether the developer has included
4K assets - i.e. new high resolution textures. Not all games have been enhanced in this way. Assassins Creed has been enhanced with 4K resolution support, but this includes very little, if any, other enhancements, hence the small update size.

In your My Games and Apps there are drop downs to show Xbox One games and Xbox One Enhanced games. If your game is in the 'Enhanced' category, it has been updated for Xbox One X, regardless of the update size.

If I'm not mistaking a Xbox One will only go up to 720p and Xbox One S and X will do 4k. I'm not sure how to configure your TV, however yourself can go to the picture settings on your TV and change them to your likings.

No, that's not correct.

Original Xbox One does 1080P. The Xbox One S can do 4K, but only for Streamed 4K video content and 4K UHD movie discs. You can upscale games to 4K or play them at 1080P without up-scaling on the One S.

The original console's maximum resolution is Full HD, 1080P.

The One X can do the same, with the exception of Enhanced games which will can run in 4K if they have been designed to do so.

A 1080P game image on a 4K TV will have to be scaled down by the display. This may well produce a more pixelated image. You will need to change your display settings on the TV to try to compensate for this.

Game mode adjusts the display settings to remove post processing effects that apply to broadcast media or movies, thus improving how fast images are displayed. It does not affect the sharpness of how graphics are shown on the display.

The developers of the applications would need to add 4k output for the Xbox one S Microsoft / Xbox has no control over their updates.

It's best to try to reach out to them asking for 4k / HDR output.

I have a X, S, and two 1's

They do not update at the same time, Especially Games

Forza 7 on the S and 1's updated then two weeks later the X updated, (probably the 4k content)

For the Xbox's I use all the time, I have them on auto update.

I chatted with Amazon. As it turns out you can stream any UHD titles you *own* through them already. You cannot browse a list to buy 4k, see a category for 4k or use it for Prime 4k titles. But it does stream the few titles I already owned in 4k. This is
due to the app being extremely old and needing to be updated. Netflix works fine for 4k. I assume YouTube needs to be updated for 4k.

As long as on the subject, why doesn't MS Movies and TV Store on the One S offer any 4k titles? Has anybody heard of any plans that way?
