    4K UHD vs 5.1 sound


    Hello

    I would like play in 4K UHD with 5.1 sound on my XboxOneX.

    My TV is Samsung UE55KS7502U.

    My sound system is Samsung HT-J5550W.

    IF i SET Display&sound - Video output - Video fidelity&overscan - Overrides
    TO Auto-detect

    THEN Display&sound - Audio output - HDMI audio -
    5.1 uncompressed     NOT WORKING, just Stereo uncompressed

    BUT Display&sound - Video output - Resolution -
    4K UHD     WORKING

    IF i SET Display&sound - Video output - Video fidelity&overscan - Overrides
    TO HDMI

    THEN Display&sound - Audio output - HDMI audio -
    5.1 uncompressed     WORKING

    BUT Display&sound - Video output - Resolution -
    4K UHD     NOT WORKING, just 1080p

    Upgraded to Xbox One S now surround sound no longer works (0x80bd0009)

    I can only use 5.1 when I reconfigure settings from auto detect (4k uhd) to manual HDMI (1080p) The issue is that I must choose between 4k HDR and 5.1 surround. They cannot both be used together. Need Help!!

    1080p movie on a 4K TV, how does it look like?

    1080p looks amazing on 4K (was skeptical as well when I upgraded) - I honestly can't tell on a 65" between my 4K UHD BR vs. regular BR - except for UHD BR's that have HDR.

    Is your console enrolled in the Insider Preview Forums?

    If so, try to set each other setting, and then hold the Xbox button on the controller as if you were to shut down your console.

    Use the Send Feedback/Report a Problem button on the right, instead of shutting down the console.

    Choose the appropriate feedback category and describe the issue as well as TV and Sound system.

    Make sure you have the checkmarks set to send screenshots and video of the issue, so the engineers can see the behavior.

    Then send in the feedback.

    I am very close to believing that and being very upset at the same time. I bought this tv because it is a 4K UHD tv. Lol
    It wasn't till after I bought my 4K UHD TV did I realise something was missing in the specs. Check this search HDR vs HDR10 vs HDR10+

    1.4 not but 1.4b can do 4k/24fps and UHD/30fps. 4k is not interesting... we all have UHD!! 4k is in cinemas and 17:9.

    I really hope the pass thru will work for 4k/UHD!!

    Can't use 5.1 Surround through TV in 4K

    The Xbox Console will only detect what it's connecting too and not what's "after" your tv. You could try and run HDMI OUT from the Xbox to the TV for just straight video and run Optical out of the Xbox to an optical in port on the
    receiver for your audio
    That's a shame as it works fine in 1080p when I set my TV connection to HDMI but as soon as I set it to Auto-Detect and set my resolution to 4K UHD, it fails to detect 5.1 Surround Sound support. Why does it work fine in 1080p but fail in 4K?

    Oh well, just going to have to deal with TV Audio as I won't be sacrificing 4K/HDR gaming just for surround sound.
