4K UHD discs not playing

I have a new 4K TV and also just got the xbox one S in order to play UHD discs. However, I am having similar problems as others with certain discs not playing. My first disc was "Magnificent 7" which at first didn't play. After contacting support about this
issue they sent me a an offline system update which worked great. I was then able to watch the film in HDR. Encouraged by this I then went out and bought my second UHD disc "Inferno" and guess what. I'm back to square one with that disc not playing. I have
tried reloading the update and deleting the bluray app and reinstalling it but no joy. Xbox support say I should return the disc to the store and change it for another one but I don't accept this argument. Do I go back to my xbox supplier and ask for a new
one or does anyone have any other suggestions.

That's an odd issue for sure, one that we've not seen with 4K UHD discs. Which Blu-ray title are you playing that you're seeing this issue? To clarify, are you sure that you're using the 4K UHD disc and not the Standard Blu-ray? Can you share a picture of
the disc as well? Does the issue happen with all 4k UHD discs you try.

UHD Blu Rays

It doesn't support 4K UHD playback.

If you are referring to "Mastered in 4K" discs those are just 1080p titles made from a 4K master.

New hardware is required to playback UHD Blu-Ray.
