Hi, I own an Xbox One S and I am not sure what 4K TV to buy. I currently use a 1080p screen. With Xbox Scorpio on the horizon I am also not sure if I should save money for that or get a 4K TV instead?

    :)

I know from reading Twitter and other social media sites ALOT of people have asked the same.

Most replies to this is what Hun Kim said above, you will still get the benefit, just not the full benefit if your TV hasn't got HDR. I stress though it's only what I've read.

We just bought a new Samsung 4K with HDR but the nice chap told my friend who was also after a new 4K with HDR that a lot of Samsung TVs from 2015/2016 that didn't have HDR received updates to add HDR so for people who after a TV with HDR that already have
a Samsung 4K check whether you TV has already been updated, chances are if it was a 2015/16 model you already have it. Could save yourself a fair bit of money.

    Hello Quickshooter70,

I too have an Xbox One S and have been holding off on buying a 4K UHD TV. In large part because I wanted to wait to make sure the standards like HDR10 and HDMI 2.0 were fully implemented by the TV manufacturers. However, things have kind of changed with
the now published information that Xbox Scorpio will be supporting the new and additional specifications of AMD FreeSync, VRR (variable refresh rate) and HDMI 2.1 . Indeed, I see a lot people wanted to get new desktop monitors after the Xbox Scorpio released.
So, for now I'm going to wait until I get a Scorpio before I buy any 4K UHD TV.

    Good luck and good gaming,

    SA

Xbox One X 4K pass thru?

When you say 4K pass through, are you talking about a 4K source sending the TV signal to the Xbox and then to the TV? Or sending the Xbox1 X 4K signal to pass through a 4K receiver and then to the 4K TV?

Does 4K on xbox one x work on all games?

4K is about the resolution that is capable, not the power of a system. A 4K tv means its capable and will support 4K resolution. It all depends on if a game is made and supports 4K if it will display in 4K on a 4K tv.

My Xbox one X will no longer allow me to record in 4k or 4k HDR

My tv is a 55" OLED 4k HDR tv (I did say in the past it has recorded in 4k and that the tv is running in 4k HDR)

    Best Xbox X gaming monitor?

I have a insignia 4k TV and it automatically recognized that it was 4k and set the TV to 4k when I turn the console on.

Xbo one S and xbox one X

The XBOX ONE S is 4K, you have to have a 4K TV in order to get 4K content. Then your 4K TV has to be directly in the XBOX (TV IN ) HDMI slot. Once you connect this your XBOX will automatically download the Blu Ray 4K app
