  1. 4K TV 120HZ vs 60HZ for Gaming.

I will be upgrading my TV to a 4K HDR television in preparation for the Xbox One X.

My question is whether a 120Hz tv is needed or a 60Hz? From my understanding is that most games will run at 60fps so does this mean a 60Hz tv show just as good as a picture as a 120Hz tv?

    :)

The console is conected directly to the tv. both tvs that i try are 4k 60hz. The interpolation to 120hz is disable in both tvs

    Wondering about LCD lag

im considering between two vizio tvs the E420VO(60hz), and the M421NV(120HZ) both LED's. I have an LCD downstairs LN46d630m3fxza its a 46 in samsung 120hz, and even in gaming mode, for some reason it's not that great playing on xbox 360(at the time i was
using HD component or composite whichever). there was a little bit of motion blurr i guess. Does anyone have any input of determining how the game quality will be. 60hz vs 120hz, larger screen sizes, LED vs LCD. if those effect the quality of the gaming?...I
    am leaning towards the M421NV

That's the TV's refresh rate. I have 120Hz on my set.

I would recommend that you get a TV that supports HDMI 2.0 for 4K

As a general rule, if what you're watching involves seeing real peoples' faces as they talk, disable the higher refresh rate so they don't look like creepy dolls (also known as the "soap opera effect"). If what you're watching involves seeing real people
run into each other (sports), or fake people attacking each other in an artificial environment (video games), keep the higher refresh rate mode turned on (though set to "low" or "medium" if given the option, because the most zealous motion modes can still
    make the picture look unreal).

120Hz TV's are part of the new high frame rate initiative that's being pushed among TV broadcasters however on the PC side for games something similar has been happening for a while via tech called Freesync & G-Sync. So you are no longer locked to 60Hz/60fps
and instead and make full use of the processing power getting ultra smooth game play eliminating any judder or screen tearing (which were the prior downsides).

The One X actually supports Freesync so should be able to make use of any TV that features Freesync support however none have been announced and MS didn't even mention it at E3 only in the specs of the console.

What does the One X get out if it, well at the most basic level any game that is in the 40-50fps range will feel like it's running at 60fps and if the games is running in 60fps or higher to begin with it will be silky smooth.

A generic 120Hz TV wont do anything with the One X it must be a Freesync certified TV of which their are none on the market, Freesync 2 HDR PC displays are only just starting to come out.

Frame rate(fps) and Hz are two different things! See Ultra HD '4K' TV refresh rates are all lies (basically) . It will explain well!

Make sure your 4K TV has HDR10! That is the standard for Xbox One X! Some have HDR, but use lower/old standard(HDR8). Dolby Vision has their own(HDR12)-HDR10+2(metadata), better but DV charges a fee! See...

I was looking at Samsung MU6300 until I saw above link. Now with prices dropping for 4KTV's I went with MU8000!!! LOVE IT!!! (looked at Sony XBR900E-has Dolby Vision)

Xbox Series X - no support for 120hz on HDMI 2.0 TVs under 4k? (ie 1080p/1440p)

To achive 4K at 120hz your TV needs to have HDMI 2.1 ports and supports 120hz, such as the LG CX TV,

The bandwidth limit of HDMI 2.0 will only allow 4K at 60hz.
