4k support

cheers Jayadub, i dont feel so *** now at my TV. it seems that an upscaling blu ray is the only option for now to get any real benefit from the set up I have. thanks a lot, you've been more helpful than the entire internet and numerous support sites.

Is there a discernable difference then in the resolution between a 1080p movie and 4000p movie?

The reason that I am asking this is because I've noticed a huge difference in resolution quality when my friend played her Nintendo Wii on an SDTV (480p) to 720p (she upgraded LOL). Just to be clear, the HDTV was 1080p, but the Nintendo Wii can only output
720p.

Is the difference between 1080p and 4000p as noticeable as I just mentioned in my previous statement?

I have a 4k tv as well, same LG as someone else mentioned I believe.

Some Blu-Rays and Netflix movies look a bit better but thats really about it. I only got one because it was on sale around Black Friday.

Doesn't really change much as far as gaming, in fact some games in particular ones with lower resolution kind of look worse. Titanfall for example looks terrible haha. But the 1080p games look fantastic.

And if you play 360 games still those look pretty bad too.

The Blu-rays that say Mastered in 4K will have a better overall picture than those that aren't. I don't see that they cost anymore, at least from Amazon. Sony previously did this with a line of pristine masters of DVD's some years ago. Here is the marketing

Notice the "near 4K" phrase? In any case they should look better when played back on equipment that will utilize the high bitrate of the disc.

thanks Jayadub, disappointed to say the least as its become quite clear that the "investment" in a 4K tv was a false one. Sorry to flog a dead horse but, whats the deal with the blu ray players that say they upscale to 4k aslong as you have a 4k tv? is
slapping 4k on the latest batch of blu ray film releases just a scam then to get people to pay more for a film that the picture wont be any better than that of a standard blu ray?
