4k support

Gonna pick up a 4k tv and just wanting to know if X1 an ps4 support 4k blu ray movies

How much truth is in a new rumor about Xbox One being able to run just at 720p?

PS4 will have 4k resolution but not for games. Only for photos and videos.
MS on the other hand will support full 4K. This is in the hardware in the consoles,
So Sony could not do an update just to support this. Not real sure how Sony can counter this
but 1080 will soon be gone before we know it.

 

Xbox says 4k 60hz not supported for gaming

i have i sony xe9005 and when i check the 4k details list everthing is Green. But under gaming its says supports up to native 4k instead of supports 4k at 60hz. Does this mean that i dont fet 4k at 60hz?

Under video and resolution it says supports 4k 60hz

 

There aint any 4k blurays yet but there is upgraded movies says 4k on box but they play in 1080p and work on xbox picture is better but not ture 4k

what tv you getting i got the 55inch lg

It is absolutely pointless to get a 4K tv now. I am waiting until 4K is completely supported before I make that purchase. By the time 4K is supported your tv will be middle aged and not as vibrant as it once was. And most tv channels are 720p.

But you know what you want when you want it. I am not doing what I did when HD TV's first came out. By the time most channels and movies were using true HD, it was time to upgrade my TV. Wasted $

 

I agree with Doc, it is way to early to hop on the 4k train for tv. It will be a while before I make the jump to a 4k tv, which probably will be when and if there is another console generation.

 

I was waiting but currys had a sale on got it for only 600

Doc amazon prime has a bit of 4k content on it and Sony tvs you can stream 4k movies

 

@cheesy...it is not true, uncompressed 4k...just like current broadcast tv is not pure, uncompressed 1080p. True 4k will not be out in abundance for a long time.

 

Im not getting it just for 4k an i know a few netflix shows support it @cheesy have you had any problems while gaming on your lg

 

only issue I had was alot of screen tearing on borderlands thats it only real issue is standard dvds through xbox look really bad other than that no issues

 

I have yet to see a over-the-air channel over 1080i, with most of the "H.D." channels 720p; a lot of commercials are still 480. AT&T U-Verse H.D. channels were all 1080i last time I paid attention. I have no idea why anyone would would want a 4k T.V. now...Isn't
the input lag on 4k abysmal?

several new release Blu-Rays are coming mastered in 4K so its time the Xbox One did an update to support the playback. I have a 4K tv and dont want to pay out for another blu ray surround to get 4k support when the Xbox could and should support playback..its
only firmware afterall isnt it?

Netflix do 4K content but its minimal, better call Saul, the ridiculous six and few others..including a fireplace to sit and watch..really! but for this viewing pleasure you have to pay an additional monthly fee..sod that!
