4k streaming video on xbox one x?

    4k streaming video on xbox one x?


    I've been trying to figure out if 4k/hdr streaming video works on xbox box one x or if there's something I'm missing. I watch 4k video on my smart tv (2016 Samsung ks8000) and it routinely looks more defined with better colors than when I watch it on my
    xbox one x. I've noticed this with 4k titles on Netflix (I have the 4 screen/4k subscription) and 4k titles on Amazon Prime. From looking at news articles I've seen that Netflix supports 4k on x1s and I assume this carries over to x1x because I see the UHD/hdr
    banners over titles. Meanwhile, it looks like Amazon released a 4k update to their x1x app on Nov 7th so I assume that should be 4k too.

    Regarding my console, I routinely see beutiful 4k/hdr in my games (gears, tomb raider, etc) so I know that's working and my x1x video settings show all green checkmarks for my tv being 4k/hdr capable. I've ensured that I have the latest xbox system update
    (manually downloaded last week's patch that fixed the UHD Blu-ray player) and my Netflix & amazon apps were downloaded after Nov 7th so they're up to date too.

    Is anyone experiencing the same issue? The lack of news makes me think maybe 4k video works on the console and maybe I'm missing something but I'd love to know if this is an issue for others.

    Xbox one s can play 4k Utra hd blu Ray dise ?

    Games wont be playable in 4k.

    However 4k bluray movies will be playable as well as streaming video in 4k to the xbox one s

    How to enable 4k resolution???

    The Xbox one does not exactly have 4K capabilities. The most it *might* be able to do is stream 4K video. The games are all playing at a low resolution and framerate and it struggles with it, so 4k video streaming is if-y even.

    4k streaming video on xbox one x?

    my 4k video streaming seems okay, its actually some games that dont' handle HDR for me well. like Tombraider. FFXV looks great. Also for me most games HDR screenshots look either overexposed (FFXV) or under exposed.

    The original Xbox One has no 4K capabilities, but the Xbox One S and Xbox One X can stream video and play games in 4K, but not watch movies in 4K.

    Thank you for reaching out to us with this issue. The HDMI cord that comes with the Xbox One S is the same grade that comes with the Xbox One X. Regardless, only the Xbox One X can stream true 4K video. Thank you.

    Although both the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X can both stream 4K, only the One X is capable of true 4K gaming. I would recommend the XBox One X over the XBox One S because it only one that can truly do 4K gaming! The XBox One S can upscale 1080p games
    to 4K but isn’t a real 4K console, although it can play Blu-Ray in 4K. The XBox One X is the first console to truly be able to stream 4K gaming, plus it has a Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray player!

    Unfortunately the Xbox one S is only really capable of maxing out at 1080p UHD. If you want the full 4k HDR experience you'll need the Xbox One X. I dont think there's a way of getting it to run even in 4k UHD on their S. The only 4k you'll get on the
    S is the streaming and video quality.
