4K setup for XBOX ONE X w/Sony Bravia X800G

I had the same problem and found this on another site and it worked for me:

Go to the Home screen, settings, External inputs, and set the HDMI signal format to ‘Enhanced 4k HDMI signal format’. For some reason the default on your super expensive UHD HDR tv is ‘standard’ and nobody
tells you otherwise...

This made all those warnings on the 4k TV info screen turn into green check marks. Hope this helps somebody save some headache

Also it has to be in HDMi port 2 or 3.

btw may take me a few days to try new port and get pics, I’ll have to do this at a time my husband Isn’t home so i can fiddle with it and not be rushed. And he’s home from work now. Thanks

I’ll try to get to some screen shots of settings I’m currently on and screens I’m getting. Basically the HDMI smart function on the Xbox One X recognizes it as 4k @60hz capable, but if i try to switch the resolution from 1080 to 4k UHD, it wont accept
that setting. Also i can try in another port but husband wont keep xbox set up that way since the TV speakers suck...lol. I’m just curious if i keep the allow 4k content option checked but resolution is @1080 on xbox, if i put in a 4k movie will it automatically
switch to 4k resolution, just not true UHD color settings?

Do you have the option to test going directly from Xbox to the TV? That would rule out the receiver settings or configuration from the possible issues, and allow us to focus on the TV/Xbox settings. It's just an easy step in eliminating what it's not
so we can focus on identifying what it is.

Do you have anything between your console and your TV? Sometime devices such as capture cards can cause issues with display resolution. And are you using the HDMI cable that came with the Xbox One X? Different HDMI cables have different standards versions
and some allow 4k and some do not support it. Were you ever able to display 4k on your TV or is this a new issue that occurred after it was working successfully before?
