    Its been quite a while since the ONE has been released an we have been hints to a possible 4K output support update. Is there any updated info on this. I have been waiting for this for a while now. and it should not be a question of if the public wants
    it then they should release and update. Why would you not release the update. and simply if you don't have a 4k tv, it recognizes that and doesn't let the system output 4k. simple as that. Why is there a need to wait ,, unless it is not capable and it was
    just bologna from the get go. Yes you might have to sacrifice system performance overall to enable this but only when it is being used. thats a choice i feel users would gladly make than not even having the option to use 4k output. i hope Microsoft at least
    comes straight if it really is possible what is the need to wait years after system release for an software update. any update info would be great, sorry for the long rant. I'm just a really big fan of the system and would love to have 4K support on the system
    that it was promised to have.

    Important questions few have asked about XBOX ONE!

    Re: X1 and PS4 both being "4k compatible," that does not mean they are 4k Blu-ray compatible, it just means that they can output 4k. So, in other words, there is still the possibility the X1 might only be able to upscale 1080p Blu-ray to 4K, and might not
    be able to actually decode and output native 4K Blu-ray.

    X1 can output in 4K in other scenarios, though.

    No 4K without HDR (xbox one x)

    you need hdr for 4k output

    I don't think you fully understand

    Uhd and hdr are required for 4k output

    Unless you have an xbox one s not a x

    You can't play in 4k

    4k is only for.movies or streaming sources which require both uhd and hdr

    But.xbox.one x will do 4k gaming

    My understanding is that the update that provided 4K Output has already been released. Someone told me that it was released in the August 2015 time frame.

    Your hdmi port is 4k enabled but output from console is 1080p at the moment.
