4K on my Xbox One X suddenly stopped working

Hi Guys,

I have an Xbox One X hooked up to a Sony KD-49X8005C 4K TV.

I've been using it happily for months but recently every now and again when I turned the Xbox on, it would come on the TV and be a small box with white noise in it. I would restart the Xbox and finally get it to come on at 640x480. After some fiddling around,
I would finally get my 4K signal back.

However now I've completely lost that, the Xbox just keeps saying my TV does not support 4k. I have factory reset both TV and Xbox and also swapped HDMI cables. I have tried multiple ports and turned on enhanced HDMI functions on the TV input settings. Unfortunately
I don't have another 4k TV or device to see if it's the Xbox or the TV at fault.

Anyone got any ideas?

Any help really appreciated and thanks in advance.

Xbox One S 1440p on 4k monitor

I'm not in the Preview Program thingy, have an Xbox One X console still in it's 12 month manufacturer warranty, have a Sony 43' KDX8000E 4K HDR TV, and my 4k connection is working fine. Yay. And YES Microsoft already has 4k support on Xbox One X. The Xbox
One X can do some 4k gaming since it has better hardware than the S model (12GB GDDR5 @ 326GB/s bandwidth, a faster processor, vapour cooling is better than air cooling).

Xbox One Kinect Stopped Working

My XBoxOne suddenly stopped working last night as well. Was there an update recently or something? In addition to my Kinect suddenly bricking, it also stopped turning my TV & receiver off/on. The heck's going on?

Whenever the Xbox One displays in 480p, the display troubleshooter would appear, as this indicates that the Xbox failed to retrieve the EDID from your TV, which is just some data the TV sends to the Xbox that tells it what resolutions and other specs it
supports.

I did that, and even tried a different HDMI port and enabled HDMI Deep Color on that port as well but it wouldnt work. To be fair it initially worked and then suddenly stopped, which led to the current predicament. I plugged into a sucky non-4k tv and the
Xbox auto-reverted out of 4k mode.

Are you doing just a reset or a power cycle?

Try a power cycle with the console if you haven't.

Unplug the power source for about 5 minutes to see if that helps.

We recommend trying a full
power cycle of your Xbox One console and router/modem as Geth suggested.

If that does not help, please try a
soft factory reset of your Xbox One console selecting the option to keep your games and apps to avoid having to download them again. Any changes with this experience after that?
