4k Image Issues (Vizio Du50)

Haha I think they're as perplexed as we are! You might have a point about HDR being an issue in this because Vizio we're talking about doesn't necessarily have HDR but it does have a yellow check mark & says "HDR for games & apps is turned off. To turn it
on, back up & select Allow HDR." Here's the thing though, it's greyed out. Not that it had the ability to begin with but something definite seems to be up with that.

i think its a xbox fault, it sees the deep colour and somewhere in the coding it says thats HDR so it can do hdr and gives the yellow warning

but i bet the selection box's get its info from the HDMI and shows it cant do it so greys it.

also the PS4 which i have also on its new HDR update has a HDR option and a Deep Color Mode option

xbox needs that option too as i think our screens are expecting a little more than the xbox is sending causing a corrupt data stream.

my thoughts - sadly try explaining that to xbox india

Hey Razerhdd, when these issues occur, do they slow the game down at all for you? If so, that would be indicative of a hardware issue, but I'm fairly certain my console has never slowed down in the context of these issues happening. I may still return my
console for piece of mind and try another model instead.

It's hard to say really. I know if I leave the tv off for awhile & then quickly switch to 4k resolution it will last for about 12 minutes with no issue. At first I thought "maybe the TV can't handle it for too long" but then again I looked all over the internet
about any other things such as blu ray players having identical issues & I didn't find anything.

Yes, I tried it with and without Game mode and the problem still occured.
