4k dvr wont record. I'm In alpha skip ahead

I believe there is an issue with capturing content if you are using an Insider Build (Alpha, Alpha Skip-Ahead, Beta, Delta, and Omega).

Unfortunately there isn't a way to recover the full clip at this time, as far as I understand.

Hopefully this issue will be addressed in a coming update.

AFAIK, they are testing some fixes now for Game DVR 4K clips in the Alpha Skip Ahead and possibly Alpha Dashboard preview releases. You will have to wait until testing finishes with the Beta and Delta tiers and the updates are released into the next public
Dashboard release. If they follow past year releases, then the next public update may be in July or August 2020 (that's just my best guess at this time).

We're testing it in the Insider program at the moment (alpha/alpha skip ahead members) so if all goes well then it wont be that long before it's made public.

Even the most recent alpha skip-ahead update today still hasn't addressed it.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this issue can't be fixed with an OS update. I remember when it first started happening to me it wasn't an "all on, all off" sort of problem. It came and went even when there weren't software updates. Would have a month of
fine clips, then a couple clips recorded correctly, but with a low frame rate and visual artifacts. Then it'd be fine for a few days. Then a few clips in a row wouldn't record at all. Back to normal for a bit, then finally it just completely stopped.

The only thing that brought it back temporarily was that late-May insider update, but I don't know, maybe it's just too much stress to put on the CPU/GPU to render a 4k/60 game AND record it constantly at the same time (via 30-seconds always-on DVR function).

I hope I'm wrong. Your best bet is to just follow the insider sub-reddit and refresh the Xbox website's insider page every day to see if alpha skip-ahead gets wind of any fix.
