  1. 4K Display issues

When I try to set my Xbox One S to 4K display, I end up with screen stuttering, flashing, or green lines intermittently displaying. I checked the forums and the mentioned cable issues, but I've been through 3 cables now, and the TV and cable worked fine
    with a 4K Bluray player.

I find that if I reset the Xbox, it will display in 4K fine unless I load Netflix or VUDU (which I believe are the only apps that actually do 4K native; I think the rest just upscale)

Do I need to send the Xbox in for repair?

    :)

  2. Standard Blu-ray not being up-converted

Hey, drwatson618! Sorry to see any confusion surrounding this, however some items that are not 4K rated will not display in 4K. This is why the console needs to be set to Auto in the settings; not everything supports 4K just yet, and the console wants to
    adjust for those items.

If you have any issues with UHD Blu-ray not displaying in 4K, or other 4K issues, please do not hesitate to let us know! Thanks for understanding!

    Hey there!

Have you gone through the steps and suggestions on our
Troubleshoot 4K on Xbox One S support page
? One of the steps mentioned is setting the TV Resolution on your Xbox One S to 1080p, while ensuring the 'Allow 4K' box is checked within 'Advanced TV' settings. The TV resolution setting is specifically for setting
how non 4K content is scaled, and will still allow native 4K content to play at 4K on your display.

If the flicker issues persist with native 4K content after setting your TV resolution setting to 1080p, please post back the brand and model number of your 4K display so we can take a deeper look!

  5. Yes, I have tried that. When I do 1080P for the display, it then switches to 4K only for 4K apps like Netflix and Vudu. When it switches to 4K the stuttering and flashing occurs.

The TV is a Panasonic TC-55CX400U.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the extra information. First thing to check is that your TV's firmware is fully up to date. Also double (or triple) check that your HDMI cable is plugged into the HDMI 2.0 port.

Next, I can see that your TV has native Netflix and VUDU apps built in. What is the experience like when you use the apps natively? This will help us try to narrow down where the issue may lie.

Keep us posted! 4K Display issues :)

  7. Double checked by using both the HDMI 1 and 3 ports (which are both supposed to support HDMI 2.0). Both had the same experience.

I tried the native Netflix app on the TV and it does not have any issues running at 4K. Also, I have previously plugged in a different 4K Bluray player to the TV and did not have any issues with it.

    Hey there Scavenger!

Thanks for passing that model number! After a little bit of research, we recommend starting out by turning off the 120Hz option (if you're able to). During our research, we've also seen similar reports with different 4K devices connected to that specific
model of TV from other owners. If those options don't work out, we recommend reaching out to
Panasonic Support next for further assistance.

We apologize if this causes any frustrations - hopefully this gets resolved soon! Please do not hesitate to ask the community if you have any additional Xbox questions.
