4K device support and easy sharing gameplay clip on facebook

I was recently reading somewhere on web that XBox One will soon be updated to support many 4k devices. I was wondering estimate how long it would take for this update to happen? I am very curious about this since I owe one Samsung 4k smart tv I am really
hoping this update would happen very soon. Also I noticed recently when I was trying to upload a gameplay clip on facebook via OneDrive app, it didn't work. It only allowed those who had OneDrive account to view the video....I mean that is frustrating for
me since no one could view the clip. Can you possibly make easier for XBox One users to upload any gameplay clip we would like to add on facebook. I mean Playstation has a share button and its easy to trim and straight forward upload the clip on facebook..
Come on Xbox you could approach something similar..Such updates would definitely make many consumers happy.

    :)

    Sharing on Facebook

For some unknown reason, every time I try to share a completed game on Facebook, I receive error 0x000001F8.

I had this issue last week, but managed to resolve it by removing the two XBOX related apps on Facebook and then following the procedure to add them again. However, since playing on GFWL on my pc earlier today, it seems the issue is back.

I have tried recovering my profile, clearing system cache, setting up Facebook credentials again, removing the apps on Facebook, clearing all connected device from Facebook and finally altering my privacy settings on 360.

The strange thing is, it keeps prompting me to allow publishing to my wall even though my privacy settings already allow this. And no matter how many times I click allow it just keeps repeating the error message.

Is this function meant to work still? Or is it yet another broken feature that Microsoft will phase out rather than fix?

    Hello Wardener,

Nothing's been announced regarding 4K so nobody knows anything for certain and there's nothing to tell, unfortunately.

As for the Facebook idea, you should go ahead and visit the Xbox Feedback site, which is read by the actual platform engineering developers, to either create that suggestion or vote for a similar existing one.

You can find the Xbox Feedback page here:

    Share captured videos and pictures

    There are few workarounds.

    1. In your twitter settings, allow twitter to post to Facebook on your behalf and then from your console share your photos or clips on twitter. They'll automatically be posted to Facebook.

    2. Share your clips and photos on OneDrive, and then go to onedrive.com and find your clips/photo, get the share URL and share that on Facebook.

    3. Or for clips go to a site such as https://xboxclips.com/ and on the top right search for your gamer tag. It will show you all your videos. Share from there to Facebook.

4K Upload Studio and YouTube Clip Uploads

    Hi there!

Unfortunately you can only share gameplay clips on Xbox Live, OneDrive, or Twitter at this time directly from your Xbox. Uploading to YouTube from the Xbox is currently not available.

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/apps/upload-studio-sharing-clips

You should be able to edit 4K clips in upload studio granted you have an Xbox One X. The only difference between 4K clips and normal clips is that 4K clips are limited to 30 seconds but editing them should all be the same.

My tv supports 4k and display resolution is set to 4k HDR, but i am not able to record 4k gameplay videos. The high I can capture is 1080p resolution there is no option for 4k recording

    Hello Kiran Kumar3,

Thank you for your contribution to the Microsoft community.

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft customer support. I understand that you are having trouble recording 4K gameplay videos even though your TV supports 4K display resolution. Just a reminder, here on community we are not able to double check accounts and devices to check for the possible issue. What we can do here is provide/guide customers with possible troubleshooting steps for the issue.

Please note that the ability to record gameplay videos in 4K resolution depends on the capabilities of your gaming console and the capture device you are using.

Before proceeding, I need to know more details so that we can get the best possible troubleshooting for you.

    - What console are you using?

Basing on the statement you provided above, here are some troubleshooting steps that you may try:

If you are using an Xbox One X or Xbox Series X console, you should be able to record gameplay videos in 4K resolution using the built-in Game DVR feature. However, if you are using an older Xbox console or a third-party capture device, you may not be able to record in 4K resolution.

To check if your console supports 4K recording, go to Settings > Preferences > Capture & share > Capture settings and check if the "Allow 4K" option is available. If it is not available, your console may not support 4K recording.

If your console supports 4K recording and you are still unable to record in 4K resolution, please check if your capture device supports 4K recording. You may need to upgrade your capture device to be able to record in 4K resolution.

I hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
