    4K content not working on my Xbox One S anymore.


    My 4K isn’t working anymore on my Xbox one S. I don’t use it often so I started it up after a few months to watch a 4K Blu-ray movie and it looked like it was displaying at 1080. I checked the settings on my TV and the HDMI port has UHD color setting selected.
    I tried the Xbox on my 4K monitor and it just displays at 1080. The display settings on the Xbox show green checks in the 4K options for both screens. I reset the system and updated it again and still no 4K. The 4K Blu-ray app doesn’t display at 4K anymore
    either. I tried multiple cables as well. YouTube apps highest res was 1080 as well. So was Netflix. Any ideas on what’s causing it? It worked fine a few months ago and every time before that.

    Your information is not correct. Actually when you set the xbox one S console resolution to 4K UHD, everything on the console—Home, games, and apps—will display at 4K. 4K content is displayed in its native 4K resolution, and other content (like 1080p content)
    is upscaled to 4K.

    Can you please elaborate on what's going on exactly? The Xbox One S will upscale to 4K as long as you have a compatible 4K HDTV. What seems to not be working exactly? Can you please provide the make and model of your HDTV as well as the content that's not
    working for you? Are you playing this content on an Xbox One S console and using a 4K TV?

    Hi,

    I'm not sure if you are aware, but UHD colour just refers to HDR, not an UHD resolution. Enabling UHD colour won't automatically enable 4K resolution. Does your console report to be in 4K resolution? Does the OSD (on screen display) on your display/s
    show a 4K resolution I.e. 3840x2160?

    Do I need a 4K cable TV to use the Xbox One s system

    The Xbox One requires at least a 720p HDTV or monitor for display.

    Basically, if the TV has an HDMI port, your Xbox One S
    should work just fine on it.

    For me, I'm running my Xbox One S on a standard 1080p TV without a problem.

    All the talk about 4K is just an extra feature that the Xbox One S supports; if you have a 4K HDTV, the Xbox One S will be able to upscale the content to 4K resolution. It's not necessarily required to have
    4K, but it sure would be nice.
