Discus and support 4k Assets Predownload in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Hello All, I have seen several videos stating that you can start downloading 4k assets for games that are going to be 4k @ the release of the Xbox One...     Hello All, I have seen several videos stating that you can start downloading 4k assets for games that are going to be 4k @ the release of the Xbox One X. I wanted to go ahead and take advantage of this so I went in and made sure I had my settings correct.
    I already had the one setting checked to keep all my games and console up to date. so I went into the Back up and transfer screen and selected the check box to download 4k game content. I currently have Forza horizen 3 and, Minecraft. but have seen no new
    updates for those games. Am I missing something or have they not yet released those patches?

    Xbox One 1080p textures downloads only.

    A lot of games are around 20gb or more, even if they don't have 4k assets.

    Games with 4k assets are mostly around 60 to 100gb.

    Do you have the download 4k assets option switched on?

    It's in the Backup&Transfer options

    Apparently the main function of shrink option is to be able to delete all the 4k assets to save hard drive space. This is especially useful on the OG xbox One and the Xbox One S as they can't actually use the 4k assets

    Only a few games have been patched so far and AFAIK, the 2 you mentioned have not received patches yet.

    The Minecraft 4K update isn't really a patch update, from what I have read its going to be more like an add-on, not sure if it will cost (probably will) but I do admit it look awesome.

    I fear that this is going to go horribly wrong and end up being a fiasco on launch day. None of my games have updated to 4k content and one of these, Gears 4 is said to have had the content available for several days. I'll see what happens with Halo 5 tomorrow
    when that is supposed to be released. I posted a question a few days ago on Twitter and here on these support forums with no response.

    I fear that this is going to go horribly wrong and end up being a fiasco on launch day. None of my games have updated to 4k content and one of these, Gears 4 is said to have had the content available for several days. I'll see what happens with Halo 5 tomorrow
    when that is supposed to be released. I posted a question a few days ago on Twitter and here on these support forums with no response.

    4K enhanced content not downloading

    Because you cant predownload 4k content

    The way enchnced games work is they detect your console and then download the nessary patches

    What you probably clicked was the 4k bluray options

    Which only works on s and higher which is mot related to xbox x enchnaced games

    You get them when it detects and only with xbox ehnaced enabled games

    And no you cant predownload the patches

    You will just have to wait for the console
