4K 30bits and 36 bits combined with full-rgb output broken.

I'll clarify if that was confusing. How does it look when comparing the Xbox One (original) on a 1080p HDTV to the Xbox One S on a 4K UHDTV? For example, better, worse, color, black crush and such.

Have you also tried checking for Support from here

The XB1 and XB1 S both produce the same picture when using the same settings, I've tried different combinations that both systems are capable of. If that's what you're asking.

It's only when using combinations that are exclusive to the XB1 S that the output seems incorrect.

 

Lol. Not offended, just found the "To add salt to the wound. The gamma curve is still skewed on the Xbox One S." amusing. I would guess "most" people will buy the X Box One S based on the perception that it's "better", even though they are playing on a 720p
or 1080p T.V..

The X Box One S doesn't support Dolby Vision and under the impression your LG OLED 55EG920V only supports Dolby Vision...possibly that is your problem. Time for a new 4k T.V.?

Here's a quick video to help describe what I mean. As you can see when choosing more than 8bpc while using 4K as the output resolution the system seem to actually use the RGB limited range which is 8bpc.

HDR has nothing to do with the problem I describe. And my TV doesn't
support Dolby Vision Only the 6 series OLED models support it.

 

To add to my previous post. If the XB1 S can't properly output more than 8 bits per colour when outputting 4K that'll be a problem for the correct display of HDR content.

 

I was thinking that as well D33dles. I think his TV supports HDR10 which is what he would need. All LG OLED TVS released in 2016 will support Dolby Vision.

Sigh. Guys(/girls) it has nothing to do with either the HDR10 or Dolby Vision standard. Please, sorry to be rude, but if you don't understand the basics of display technology I ask you not to post.

I have two X Box One consoles and set up several others. Each T.V. gave me different options, depending on what was possible with the individual brand. By watching the YouTube video you linked, it would appear you have even more options not available or
appearing on my girlfriends 32" 720p Vizio. The original X Box One also has auto-detect. Thus in conclusion it may be possible you would get a different outcome with your T.V. as opposed to one that was on the list.

Now with that being said, I'm done "displaying" my ignorance on 4k T.V.s. From now on, every time you reply to this thread, I shall state random cat facts.

The help is appreciated. However none of the posts so far understood the problem, it's like getting helped on a math problem by someone who doesn't understand
the basics of math. The gesture is nice but that's all.

To make one thing clear, I'm confident it's a bug in the system software in combination with the new hardware. I was hoping to get response from people who could replicate the bug for MS to gather more information on.

In the mean time I've asked Albert Penello to look into it and filed a bug report on this via the feedback system on the console itself.
