4Gb, Can't format, says "unformatted"

got a 4gb system that's given me fits. went threw an update and now it will not reformat the 4gb drive, and its out of warranty. I have a cd for the update and the usb and its not letting it go threw. getting different errors like 40a3-4174-1600-267f-c000-0185
for starters... any ideas

I'm afraid problems with the 4GB internal memory showing up as "unformatted" usually require a console repair. Even though it's no longer displaying "unformatted," the fact that you can't read from or write to it or format it properly most likely means there's
a problem with the internal memory.

Xbox won't let me make a new profile or delete anything

Hi,

Could you go into the storage settings of your console and have us know if you're given the option to format the internal storage device. Or does it state the internal flash drive (4 GB) as "unformatted", when you try to format the internal drive?

I'm given the option to format it, and it doesn't say unformatted. I've tried to format it many times to factory reset it and it does nothing.

was told "your SOL" and wanted $80 to get it fixed. An update is the cause of this and bricked the motherboard/onboard memory and "I" being the consumer have to have it fixed, when in turn, its the Company that should be fixing it. its software related that
killed the hardware, no wrong doing on my part and should be fixed for free... All I have now is a 4gb (well no memory) AR15 target for practice at 100yards...

After you performed a format of your 4GB storage device, did this drive actually format properly, or does it show as "Unformatted"?

@taidara i have the same error code since the new update. and my xbox is a white slim with the 4GB flash memory, and i try to formatted the 4GB flash memory but i failed. and now its unformatted.

What do you mean ? It says unformatted and everytime I format it it goes back to all my devices and it still says "Unformatted"
