4 Xbox One controllers wont accept a charge

All these controllers suffered from thumbstick drift or the thumbstick getting stuck in certain positiions. Every time a controller became unbearable i just put it in a cabinet and forgot about them.

Now i want to attempt to fix them but they will not accept a charge. Have tried new AA batteries on them and does not turn on. Have also tried using the battery pack in my current xbox controller and still nothing. I know its not a battery issue, i think
its because they've been without a charge for a while but any idea how i could get these to turn on?

Are the battery terminals clean?

If you left old batteries in the controllers you stored in the cabinet, chances are that after some time, the batteries will start to leak acid (usually blue or white crystalline stuff that has a sour, vinegary smell) and corrode the metal terminals on the
controller. There are various sources online that say you can clean it off with a cotton swab dipped in vinegar, lemon juice, or baking soda with a tiny bit of water -- I'd research through Google for an exact walkthrough first.

That is the only likely reason I would think why the controllers wouldn't be working after being stored away for a while.

If you left the battery compartment empty before storing those controllers away, then there may be some internal damage of some fashion, or maybe the controllers just need to be resynced?

No batteries were stored with the controllers. Don't think its damage cause they were just sitting idle. My theory is cause they were sitting without a charge for a good while that current cant find it's way thru but im not sure how to force electricity
thru it. its just crazy that all 4 of these controllers will not recognize any battery. either new AA or the battery pack that i currently use
