Error 0x803F8001 when you start xbox One game

When you launch a game or app on the Xbox One console, you see the following error code and message:

0x803f8001

Do you own this game or app? If you have a game disc, insert it now. Otherwise, make sure you're signed in to Xbox Live.

If you don't have the right to use it, you'll need to buy it at the Microsoft Store.

This may mean that we're having trouble checking usage rights.

Solution 1: Insert a game disc If you're playing a disc-based game, insert the game disc into the Xbox console.

If the disc is already plugged in, see Resolve the issue of playing the disc on Xbox One.

Note Installed from cd is not available for Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, which does not include a disc drive.

Solution 2: Sign in to Xbox Live

If you purchased or installed a game or app from the Microsoft Store on Xbox One (formerly known as the Xbox Store), make sure you're signed in to Xbox Live.

Solution 3: Let owners sign in to Xbox Live

If the game or app was installed digitally (without a disc) by someone else, ask that person to log in to Xbox Live.

Tip If the game owner chooses a specific Xbox as their home Xbox, anyone using that Xbox can use installed games and apps, even if the person who hasn't installed them isn't signed in.

Sorry to hear it. Please try shutting your PC fully down then try launching the game again when you restart. If that doesn't work you may need to delete and redownload the game.
