4 month old Xbox One S increasingly slower

XBox One S received in December. I do not recall issues then, but increasingly my ability to watch game clips, game trailers, and in general, utilizing the console's UI has become maddeningly slow. It produces swearing and lots of me yelling at the TV,
    "Come on!!"

For instance I can click with my joystick to leave the home page to go to the store page, but after several attempts I'm still staring at the Home Page. Then all of a sudden it will scroll me to the Store in fast motion. It feels like my inputs were buffered
    and finally acknowledged.

Game clips attached to titles in the Store simply will not play any longer. They simply flash once and that's it. No video footage to watch. Trying to watch a game trailer and/or preview is the same. It's not all the time. Sometimes things will play
    normally. It's very frustrating.

The UI feels much slower and unresponsive and even a bit hesitant. I feel like I have a memory leak.

I have no issues once in a game title and playing whether multiplayer or single player. The slow UI seems to manifest itself only in the various pages you can cycle through. I do have a 3Tb USB 3.0 hard drive connected to the system.

I have checked my wireless connection in Networking and it passes without issue. I have tried disabling and reenabling the Network in the Xbox. I have tried rebooting my router and cable modem. I have shut down the One S and unplugged its power for a
few minutes. All with same results. It might have been a little more responsive freshly booted but the hesitancy and laggy feeling returns.

    Any help?

    :)

How much would you pay for this?

Brand New NEAR PERFECT CONDITION Xbox One S 2TB (3 months old, nothing missing.)

Xbox One Elite Controller PERFECT CONDITION (3 weeks old)

Xbox One Regular Controller PERFECT CONDITION (4 weeks old)

Overwatch Xbox One No Scratches Disk.

    Rainbow Six: Siege Downloaded

Turtle Beach XO Four (2 months old) NEAR VERY GOOD CONDITION

Can you tell me what you would pay for each of these and all together? I plan to sell on eBay/Kijiji.

  3. Thanks a lot Microsoft.. we demand a trade- in program to upgrade our consoles!

So a trade in for Xbox One S... Then months later, you'll be back, claiming my "Xbox One S is just X months old and you released Scorpio" -- so a trade in again? -- That's a big LOL.

Have you ever cleared the system cache?

You do this buy holding the power button down for about ten seconds on the console itself (not the one on the controller)

    Shaggy,

I have not. I wasn't aware of this fix. I will give it a try.

    Thanks!

  7. It sounds (to me) like you use the Instant On feature? Just guessing, since I seem to notice similar issues to what you've described if I use Instant On and didn't notice them much, if at all when I didn't. In any case, This is something that does happen
with Instant On mode. I've found that just restarting the console on a regular basis (every few days) will keep things from getting too slow and laggy. That, in combination with the occasional cache clear keeps mine running smoothly.

I was using the Instant On feature and have been since first putting the system in the entertainment center. That must explain it then. What it is explaining, I'm not sure... memory leaks, perhaps? I have done the cache clear and even took it a step further
last night and turned off Instant On. I will see how it works for a week or so in this new configuration.

    Thanks again for everything.
